I actually thought Roseman had a decent draft, but he's making a lot of the same mistakes he always. There was no reason to restructure Cox's contract, and now it makes him virtually untradable at the deadline because of the cap penalty the team would take.
The Eagles remind me a lot of the Flames in that their goal is always "make the playoffs and see what happens," rather than trying to build a sustainable contender.

They are honoring Kenny Anderson at halftime, maybe they should put him in the game.

Entertaining 4th quarter for sure. If the Bengals can keep Burrow somewhat protected they have the makings of a good offence. They're still a second rate team with an ultra cheap owner who will screw this up in time. Burrow does have a moxy about him which is fun to watch.

I thought Lawrence acquitted himself quite well. He definitely flashes brilliance as the arm talent is there and some of those runs were pretty sick. It's too bad he's on that team as the difference between a guy like Mahomes and Lawrence is one had Andy Reid and a stacked offence for him to learn and the other has a college coach in over his head and mediocre surrounding talent. Say what you want about the Bengals but Burrow at least has quality talent surrounding him.

But that's the point of Trevor Lawrence, like Luck and Peyton before him he is so naturally good that even a dog#### franchise like the Jags can't possibly screw it up. That doesn't mean they'll necessarily win anything, but this isn't like Zach Wilson who will probably be ruined by the Jets, but in a good organization would have a much better chance to be great.

Jets suck but I haven't seen anything from Wilson that indicates the possibility of greatness. Sure Darnold looks a lot better in Carolina after three games but that team is 3-0 because it has the top rated defense over the first 3 weeks and two wins were over the Jets and Texans.

just wait until that Adam Gase stink is really gone, it probably takes a bit of time to get rid of that stench. He's already solid though, tat trade to Rhule/Brady really was the best thing possible for Darnold.
I do worry about Wilson and Fields though. Jets are just bad and Nagy is terrible, plus with their OL they'll both see ghosts quickly. Some QBs really are unlucky to end up in such situations.

Darnold just needs to be replacement level and he's already much better than as a Jet, he was the worst QB in the league by advanced metrics since he came into the league (ignoring Rosen's one historically awful year). But the Mahomes situation is why the Chiefs are a well run organization and the Jets and others are not. They realized they had plateau'd with Alex Smith and went for a high upside replacement who needed development, and then proceeded to develop him properly. The Jets don't have the infrastructure to draft and develop a QB who needs development, instead they are throwing him right into the fire. Not completing 0-16 and getting the sure thing in Lawrence will haunt them for years.
Someone like Tennessee right now should be targeting a high upside replacement to Tannehill because Tannehill is a very similar QB to Alex Smith. More of an elite game manager than elite QB, but would be good for a high upside QB to learn under and maybe become that elite QB.

Aikman made a comment about these two being the future of the league at some point. Talent wise, both guys should eventually lead these teams to some form of success. But both ended up in pretty dismal organizations who in time will likely find ways to not get what they can out of the talent they have. But with there being a transition to some younger QB's I would think that both of these guys will have their teams in the playoffs by their third season. The Jags do have some other talent on offence, but like many I'm skeptical that Urban Meyer can coach in the NFL...the salary cap and draft limit his recruiting skills.

I really wanted the 49ers to move up to #3 and then try for #2, but it was quite the pipe dream. I hate the 49ers, but Wilson would be playing great football on that team right now. That’s my hot take of the year as a biased BYU fan.

Oh yeah, Lance easily landed in the best spot to succeed long term. He's got high end talent, but needs to learn a bit. And the 49ers have a quality roster too. The Jets needed Trevor because they are a terrible organization and need a can't fail guy more than a guy who needs time. I mean the Jets don't even have a decent veteran to learn from for Wilson, their backup has never even had a snap in a real NFL game. If that doesn't sound like textbook Jets....
