But why arent you sticking up for rasmus he gets called all sorts of bad words. Caps fans always stuck up for ovie, even when he did bad things.

Those are not Caps fans, they are fans from Putin’s troll farm.

If the team was winning, this would be getting laughed off. Everyone’s just tense cuz the team is blowing it.

I guess I don't feel the need to stick up for anybody on the team. Opposing fans hate the Flames players, regardless of their nationality.

Like someone said, it seems like hockey fans and media vilify the Flames constantly. r/hockey is toxic if you're a Flames fan now.

I just don't see what Razzy being Swedish has to do with anything, positive or negative.

And for the record, everybody knows Don Cherry was/is a xenophobic idiot.

Maybe Sutter can make the hatred the Flames get from the media and online into a us versus everyone rallying point. Make them embrace being the villains.

Oh, okay

Hm. I get really mixed messages with this game puck thing

Remember when Muzzin gave Tkachuk the game puck?

He had the puck, the biggest rat on the other team wanted it...played a little keep away and then threw it down. People are so soft these days...to think of the things that happened back in the day you guys would be in the fetal position crying.

And M. Tkachuck is supposed to pick it up and hand it to them? In a gift box? He angled it off the boards towards there end FFS.

Social media will be the end of days
And Reddit will be leading the charge.

I’ve softened my stance from last night. As you mentioned, I guarantee Brady was buzzing around jawing about wanting the puck the last 10 seconds, and Rasmus didn’t want to give it to him. Plain and simple given the pest that Brady is. Matt just fired it away so the Sens wouldn’t all come down and to get his brother out of the way.

That said, I am sure Andersson knew why Brady wanted the puck, the players have to be well aware this is a rookie goalie and my guess is Sutter used that as motivation at some point too.

But the reaction as if Rasmus stole this goalies first born child and held its head under water for 5 seconds, is a little much, and gets semi reasonable people whipped up into a useless frenzy about “classy” behaviour that predictably spreads past an incident on the ice and down a slippery slope where the arguments get more heated and ridiculous.

Probably spend the same 10 seconds on like I did until I waded back into this thread. I think it is actually hilarious. Rasmus should have just rolled with it.

If we won the game then Rasmus could have just kept the puck because it wouldn’t have been Gustavsson’s first NHL win

I would kind of agree with you if the Flames hadn't just lost a must-win game in their playoff push. The optics of it were bad - it came across as Rasmus being petulant. Let's assume he didn't mean it that way, and just meant it in good fun. Nevertheless, the optics were bad.

I don’t know, it’s just getting good now! We have a completely bizarre anti-Sweden spin to it all of a sudden.
