Lucic made the right call in this scenario. Further engagement opens the door to us receiving penalties when we're protecting the lead. If we were down I would bet my life kassian would have been eating Lucic's fist but unlike kassian looch understands that the objective is to win the game.
Agreed. I was more referring to deterrence in future games, and the ‘threat’ of him going off. I doubt many Oilers are afraid of Lucic seeing red, and that’s not a knock against him... it’s just that these are the guys he was protecting a few months ago.

As sick as I’ve ever been, but I still managed to listen to the game, and damn is it satisfying to have the good guys win and the bad guys go home crying.
Keep the wins coming!
And on a related note, it is so weird for the actual true story of what happened to have been recorded, but an entire group of people can have such a collectively deluded take on what happened. There’s certainly something in the water.

At one point he even mentioned that McDavid was skating off for a change!
I didn't watch much of last night's game, but that's always been my beef with Hughson even in games not involving Oil- his PBP is 70% tell us who is on the ice and what the coaches are doing matchup wise- as if he's the only one smart enough to figure that stuff out. Call the game- I can determine whether Ward wants Gio out against McD or not...he used to always do that with Daniel and Henrik too

Took those doorknobs at HF a surprisingly long time to ban me again, but I had a very enjoyable morning ruining the days of some oil fans. Good job Flames!

throws him to the ice three times and throws ten punches. dirty dirty stuff
all this answer the bell stuff is BS too, that was an attack. no time for tkachuk to do anything, he was attacked from behind by a guy who just had his pride wounded. selfish idiotic behaviour i hope he gets hammered with a suspension like 7 or 8 games.
Why does highlight package only show Oiler goals and chances?

Watching those replays makes it clear how Tkachuk knows that hitting Kassian makes good things happen for the Flames. Those aren’t reaction hits. Each time Kassian has the puck or is battling for it, and is engaged with another Flame. You can see the light click in Tkachuk’s head and he skates over to lay him out.
I totally see why other fans hate Tkachuk. He is targeting Kassian all game but won’t engage in a scrap. He should keep doing it until Kassian or the Oilers adjust.
Both are “dirty” players. One is smart, the other isn’t.

At one point, Hughson also told us that the whistle was blown allows "Connor to enter the play".
He had just come onto the ice 5-10 seconds prior to the whistle but the puck was in the Edmonton zone and Connor doesn't want to use his speed to help his defense?
Is it just me or are all the hockey pundits on twitter completely biased towards the Oilers? Did they not see the sucker punches? Im baffled. Even neutral hockey observers are calling for a Tkachuk suspension.

Congrats for top spot currently in the Pacific Division! Rather interesting that of the 5 teams from the Pacific currently in a playoff spot, Calgary is in first place but with the least regulations wins, least goals scored and worst goal differential. Keep on trucking !
You just know Keith Tkchuk was watching this one and smiling the entire game.
I don’t know, I doubt he enjoyed having his son assaulted.
I don’t think Matthew will ever give Caveman the satisfaction of a fight but Brady will at some point, maybe when he adds some size and strength, can’t imagine he enjoyed watching those punches rain down on his brother.
