Incredible that Mikael Backlund is the overtime goat twice and this series is only 4 games deep.

A far cry from his 2015 OT goal against the Ducks.

It’s staggering how awful Gaudreau & Monahan have been, especially against a very average D core, no Prongers back there.

It's a SPORTS TEAM, not the end of the freaking world. This is supposed to be FUN. I find myself wondering why some of you even watch. GFG!!
Wish I could share your optimism.. But it's over, it's been over since the Avs tied the game late in game 2. Hope everyone learned their lesson about getting excited for a Flames playoff run

Not saying it’s wrong, just amazed by the complete 180 of opinion of our top forward by so many.
Gaudreau is avoiding getting hit, and isn’t playing well as he avoids physical play. But he’s a special player, he needs more playoff built support on his line for his style of play to work. If I’m BT I look for more physical players with skill (like Stone would have been) to play with him next year, so that he doesn’t completely fade to nothing again in our next post season.

As soon as Backlund took that penalty did ANYONE think the Avs weren't going to score? It seemed like the perfect excuse this team needed to choke the last few minutes away. Really believed we were going to dig deep and pull this one out and we all got punked again.

Lack of experience isn't the reason we're down 3-1, we just don't have enough gamers. Where's the urgency and desperation!? Deserved exactly what we got unfortunately

Didn't change the fact that the game was, until the end of 60 actually even. That would be a "good game". Sucks that they lost, for sure, but one doesn't throw out the baby with the bathwater "just because".
The play wasn't even at all Flames were owned all over the ice. Again.

as for the trade gaudreau talk: i don't think trading your best offensive player right now is the best move. try to get an upgrade on monahan and see how gaudreau does when he has a centre who can play in the defensive zone and carry the puck.
I'd be happy with this.
Johnny may perform better with a puck moving centre who could help with line posession.
But one of them has to go if this round continues as is.

But Johnny better at least get grounded or s good spanking by his parents, cause the baby needs to man up.

Its sad the Flames took this long to develop him into the second coming of Joe Colborne with worse hands.

This is a reasonable, rational post! I know we are disappointed but there isn't a guy in that dressing room that wants to lose!

Once he stops being afraid and stop complaining about the oppositions slashing his hand and start going into the hard areas and start dumping in the puck, the better he'll actually become. Just tired of him being a little boy playing a big man's game. This team seems to have skillful but soft, fragile, players.
Fleury was absolutely fearless...unbelievable who he took on and how he agitated. For those who never saw him play in his prime, you missed a lot. He was a beauty, a rare blend of talent, tenacity, drive, and heart. Size was not a factor at all.

As much as I hated the officiating today, this Fleury tweet also rings true.

Fans are angry and its a reasonable thing, especially with high expectations. Its better to vent here then to go out and kick a dog into orbit and curse out a baby. So there's that.

He has to find a way to do more, that's on him, but he's not the only one, but he's going to be a focal point for anger.

I think even if these fans were to get into a room with him and resist screaming at him like a steroid overdosing version of my dad we'd see that he's probably just as embarrassed and frustrated as we are.

I'm old enough to remember that ugly playoff season in 1984 I think against the Oilers where the Flames got completely run over and humiliated, and that group of players had to take that beating and learn from it, that's what can happen at the start of your window.

Its how players like Johnny and Monahan learn and adjust between now and Friday and between whenever the season ends and next year.

Absolutely I think changes will happen in the off season if this trend continues on Friday but I doubt that Monahan and Gaudreau will be those players that are moved.
