Not really, I own a sound company (not as big obviously) but stuff happens. Could have been as small as the audio engineer didnt turn the mic up quick enough.

"Stuff happens"

Stuff being the Oilers and Edmonton being no good and can't get simple things right, like first overall picks.

Oilers always find a way to screw things up.

Sad
It's a Flames message board and the Oilers are our rival, I will find any and every little reason to put down the most pathetic franchise in all of pro sports with the most sad fans in the league.

The guys I was watching with (Oiler Fans) and I all thought he planned to have the crowd sing it. The mic didn't work, obviously, but the way he started out with "OHH..." and waited for everyone to take over immediately, really seemed like the plan was for the crowd to sing it.

It will be interesting to see how Talbot bounces back, but you have to think that the Ducks who blasted him with shots in game two are going to try to ramp it up on him to see if he's hit a fatigue wall, because he didn't look sharp.

It makes me wonder why "Coach of the Year" T-Mac didn't yank him after giving up the first three goals and give him some rest. Maybe because he can't pronounce the name of his backup goalie.

Anaheim has been the better team for most of this series and they didn't start getting rewarded until last night, but I have to think that both teams are grateful for the extra day off.

But the Oilers are going to have to be way sharper then they've been so far in this series.

With a veteran team like the Ducks when you have a chance to step on their throats you have to do that because if you even open that door by a half inch they're savvy enough to kick it in and murder your family.

Exactly, so obvious this was planned to anyone not drinking blue kool-aid.

I was like, it was ok, but it wasn't something special that deserves the hype that its getting. With the exception of Montreal most fanbases would do the same thing. Montreal of course would boo the crap out of the US Anthem being sung.

I just thought it was peculiar that the mic failed right at the start and he went right to the hand gestures and then like a miracle from god they came back up for the Canadian National Anthem.

I probably wouldn't put it past the attention whore obsessed Oilers ownership and management team to have done this as a stunt.

It was ok, but its not this amazingly cool er me gerd moment.

I tend to think that the anthem singer almost killing himself on his skates was cooler.

Except it didn't come back for the start of the Canadian anthem.

If the whole thing was planned Kissil just would have announced that he wanted the crowd to sing the American anthem....

Seems more like you guys are trying to invent a conspiracy to me.

No one I was with heard anything out of Kissil, and didn't hear the Canadian anthem singer start the anthem either.

It was a PA problem.

Leave it to the oil fans to get their panties in a knot over how an anthem went down.

I can't believe people are dumb enough to actually convince themselves that it was faked. It was pretty obvious that the in-arena sound wasn't on. The last two pages are downright embarrassing.

I stand by E=NG, if we can't poke fun what's the point of all this?

The fun police will come in and tell you how you are micro-aggressing the Oilers who are just poor victims.

You do realize that it can be faked and that the in-arena sound could still be off right?

It was obviously a gimmick and anyone dumb enough to believe otherwise has never followed the Oilers.

This is a team who literally paid people to talk up the Oilers on a hockey forum. But we are dumb .

I wonder how much the Oiler fans on CP get paid by the Oilers. If I had to guess, Stang would be the highest paid of the bunch.

A lot of people giving the Oilers a lot of credit. On the other hand, maybe they really are stupid enough to not be able to work the mic properly. Both ways, Oilers and their fans are terrible.
