Yeah, you probably are concerned with the stats and just pick the crap out of him for nothing. If you watched the games and watched the plays, you'd know that at least one of the goals that was scored against his line was due to a cough up by Gaborik on Saturday in the offensive zone. For the first two periods, the Kings defensive play against the Nucks were pretty bad. Iggy played a simple game that night - was a beast when he rammed the opposition into the boards (thought it was a legit hit but was called for boarding) and he was effective along the boards and goes straight to the front of the net. Not sure what more any coach can ask for in a player.
If you watched Iggy on that line with Kopitar and Gaborik, the guy still has frickin a lot of juice still left in him. Not sure WTF people are complaining about. Did you watch him score that goal in OT against the Preds in OT? What a beaut! That's why Sutter puts Iggy on that 4-3 in OT!

How long before he demands the captaincy, tells Sutter he refuses to play defense, and divides the dressing room?
Honestly all I want to see for Iggy now is to finish his career having some fun. He deserves that at the very least. Nice to see that classic Iggy smile after his goals last night.

Just to add a few more numbers to this, since the Kings traded for Iginla they are 0-1-1-1. No regulation wins - one regulation loss, one OT win as a result of a PP goal, and one shootout win. In fact, the Kings haven't won a game in regulation since February 25th (5 games). To make matters worse, the Kings have scored only 8 goals since getting Iginla, six of them on the powerplay. Just some more fodder to add some context to the Kings, Iginla on the Kings, their play, and their chances of getting to the post-season.

When did the NHL go back to the 0-1-1-1 system? (W-L-OTW-OTL)

They didn't. It's just NE trying to reinforce has anti-Iginla narrative.
No matter, the Kings are getting similar results with Iggy as without, and will need to play a lot better to have a chance to make the playoffs.
Nice to see Iginla looking sharp though last night.

Yup.
When you present a 2-1-0 record as 0-1-1-1, you are talking your position.

2 points is two points more in the standings regardless if you give up one or none. Jesus, take a look a the Flames and how many games they went into OT to get two points. So, what's your point?

I am secretly happy that Iginla scored two goals in the last game, and really hope the Kings can knock out the Blues or Preds.

As much as I want to see the Kings fail. I don't mind the idea of them finishing 8th ahead of St. Louis and than slugging it out with Chicago in the first round.
This way they'd at least have to pay a 4th round pick for the deal.
Ideally the Kings would finish 2nd Wild Card and Ducks first. These two would than bludgeon the two Division Winners to the point where the survivor is dispatched in the next round of the playoffs.

Normally I would agree, but we are flirting with history here. 11 years sans playoffs would raise the bar of futility higher than it has ever soared.

Yeah - I want to see the Flames and Oilers play a playoff series. Happy to have the Kings join the party (have no use for the Blues or Preds in the playoffs).

Hey man, I get it. The last time the Oilers were in the playoffs, their best player was Chris Pronger. The longer that sentence remains true, the funnier it gets.
But they're going to get in for the first time in 11 years, and then they're going on lose to us. And nothing can top that.
