Imagine if the Jays still had Syndergaard.
Stroman, Sanchez, Syndergaard, all 24 or younger and under team control for what..another 6 years(ish)?
Not to mention we'd still have D'Arnaud to platoon with Martin right now instead of Thole, which would be a win all by itself.
Man what a terrible trade that was.

Agreed. In hindsight that was a miserable trade. To feel better I try to look at the full body of work that set this current team up and I would take Donaldson, Tulo, Dickey, Travis any day over Lawrie, Reyes, Syndergaard, and Gose. Makes me feel better.

Two runs through 6IP is something you take everyday of the week from any starter. Time for the bats outside of Bautista/Donaldson to pull their weight.

Yeah, I should clarify my post was not directed at Sanchez, just frustration at the fact it happened when we were only up one.
If we're going to justify ourselves as an offensive team and save money on other positions because of it then we gotta give our pitching more than two runs.

I just try not to think about it...but damn that would have been amazing. Anthopolis gets lots of credit for last year but his first go at trying to improve the team was an absolute failure (Reyes and Dickey trades).

Anthopoulos at least salvaged the Reyes trade by dealing him for Tulowitzki. Syndergaard trade is best not to think about, he's going to be a pretty amazing player if he avoids injuries.

I have no idea what it is, but something looks off about Cecils delivery to me.

So many disappointing bats right now. Seems like they feel the pressure to light it up every game. Would be a good time to go on a long, long road trip and relax.

Luckily the Jays have been in every single game so far, EE still hasn't hit a home run, Martin and Tulo bats can only get better. Starting pitching has been tremendous. Bullpen looks to be settling down as well.

Must be nice to have Betances-Chapman-Miller as your 7-9th inning guys.

I think the Jays are going to win the next two in this series. The bats are going to come alive tomorrow! I can feel it!

What the hell is Gibby putting Smoak in there? A guy who can't hit anything but a fastball isn't going to fare well against Miller. Gibby is asleep at the wheel.

The other options are Carrera, Thole and Barney though who don't really inspire any confidence. I know what you're saying though about Smoak only being able to hit fastballs. The Jays needed a HR to tie it up and Gibby sees Smoak as the only guy on that bench who has power.
The Jays bench is very, very thin.
