Nolan is working with what he is being given. Murray hasn't given Nolan anyone that's worth raving about. They aren't purposely losing, but Murray is making sure the chances of them losing are very high, each and every game.

You keep trying to move the goalposts, it's the same thing over and over.

No one is saying that the players are trying to lose. It's an organizational thing. It really isn't that hard to understand.

The owners were pitched the idea to become the worst team in the league and they thought it sounded like a good idea. The GM thought it would do wonders for his career. He then told all his players and coaches to purposely loose because it would also benefit their careers. Basically the entire organization was in on it yet no one has come forward and said anything. And why would they? Look how much they all benefited from this. The organization is entirely corrupt from top to bottom to carry out this master plan and not one person leaked any of this. It seems reasonable I guess.

The players have NOTHING to do with tanking. The GM pretty much controls the season record. It is very clear that Murray wants this team to tank, whether he admits it or not.

Who should they have aquired and how should they have gone about it? Do you honestly believe the top free agents want to sign in Buffalo? Is it reasonable to assume Buffalo makes a lot of no trade lists? They are in a rebuild so trading long term assets for short term assets doesn't really make sense. Maybe you can help explain to me what exactly you think they should be doing.

They could have gone for Hiller. For all we know, Hiller just wanted starting minutes on another team, and Buffalo could have easily given him that. They could have offered money for Stastny. From what I remember, I never heard them in the mix for any of the top free agents. Maybe the players didn't want to go there, but I am pretty sure Murray didn't make a push for them by any means. As I've already mentioned, they have great prospect depth, yet they aren't willing to give away any of it for any quality players out there. All Murray wants is picks and having a great prospect pool, and hoping the team contends within this decade. But he is definitely the reason why this team is losing. Why do you think he is so open to trading Myers? He may be asking for the moon, but he's still on the block.

Buffalo might have made an offer for Hiller we don't know. As for Stastny come on man. He was already leaving a good situation in Colorado and went to an even better situation in St Louis. Buffalo had no chance. As I've said adding Moulson, Gionta, Gorges and Meszaros were good additions that they were able to make. They very well could have tried for more but we all know their not a dream destination right now. Myers has struggled. He likely needs a change of scenery. If they can get a good package for him why wouldn't they? Pretty logical move. They just started their rebuild just like us. Both teams are allowing their prospects to develop before jumping the gun to ship them out. The Flames haven't made any significant trades yet either. I think most of us would be dissapointed if we traded prospects and picks for an older player. And if your trading for a younger skilled player the price is usually way to high. Just doesn't make sense at the current stage of the teams cycle. The Sabres are being patient just like the Flames.

Maybe when you find some actual evidence you'll have a reason to reply. Until then your personal opinion or a supposed story by Eliotte Friedman isn't enough to convince me that the Sabres are purposely trying to lose.
