Reinhart-Ekblad-Bennett-Dal Colle-Draisaitl/Ritchie (tied) is my personal order. At 4, whichever is highest ranked still available gets selected.

I will bet anything Florida takes Ekblad.
I think it will go:
1. Florida- Ekblad
2. Buffalo - Bennett
3. Oilers: Draisaiti
4. Flames: Reinhart

To be clear, I am not proposing to trade down. I'm proposing to acquire another pick. What would it take?

Not sure what would be acceptable in trading down, but...
If you trade down 3 or 6 spots down and someone takes Ritchie, then you better have at least 2 or 3 prospects that you like just as much as him otherwise you downgraded your 1st pick for a chance at a lesser prospect (assuming you get picks back).

Agreed, I did throw the disclaimer in that I won't judge his character based on that, it was just more a reaction to seeing that video for the first time, just now.

I will be praying to every God known to mankind every night, especially to the powerful Hockey Gods, that this becomes reality.

If the Flames can get one Ekblad, Reinhart and Bennett, in that order, I don't see the difference. Key is one of Dal Colle, Draisaitl, Nylander, Richtie, et al make it into the top 3 - either the original 3 teams or if a team trades into the top 3.

This is what I want, but I think we'll end up with Bennett instead of Reinhart. Would love Reinhart though.

Toronto picks 10th (assuming our target were available), would people trade Backlund for Toronto's pick?
Does either team have to add?
(also assuming we had just drafted another C 6 picks earlier)

Sureloss, I'm sure it's been a long day for you, and this confirms that you are indeed human and not a supercomputer locked up in the Pentagon's basement .
I mentioned that it was to acquire a second 1st round pick and not to trade down from our 4th overall, leaving us with two 1st round picks.

duh sorry...
but if recent draft history has taught us anything, teams won't move a top 10 pick at the draft unless its part of a package for a young potential franchise player (i.e. J. Staal and Cory Schnieder)

Tough call. We do have stajan for a #3 if we do that but I really like the strides backlund made this year.
I would trade them glen cross though.

At this point, I honestly think Oilers picking Draisaitl is more wishful thinking than a realistic possibility. I just can't see them taking him with Bennett or Reinhart on the board. Stranger things have happened I guess, but I'm resigned to the fact we will get neither of the Sams.

OilersNow @OilersNow
"It would be a huge honour to be drafted by the Oilers. To wear that uniform one day would be the greatest thing ever for me." Draisaitl.
Kid is clearly a head case... put in the Do Not Draft list.

I was indifferent about Draisatl a minute ago. He is effectively in my do not want list, barf!

Exactly the way I see things. No way do they take Drasaitl with Bennett or Reinhart available.

Absolutely not! In a draft that apparently drops off significantly after the first 4-5 picks, how could anyone trade Backlund for 10th overall? He is really rounding into form and made significant strides this season. No way in hell do I make that trade!
