More importantly, is Burke wearing a tie? If yes, in what style?

-In my meeting with the coaches I told them do what is best for the long term
-Send guys down if you aren't playing them if you want

There are a lot of reporters asking the exact same question over and over again.

Some reporter should say how does Butlers turn overs in the Flames zone sit with you?

If he said yes, I'd want him relieved of his duties too.
Move on.

The next little while should be interesting anyway, hope Burke brings in the right guy.

I think that it triggered the process for a new president as it was clear ownership lost confidence and that they didn't many have confidence in King to find the next GM which is why they looked to Shanahan and then Burke. Jay probably got fired that week and it just came to fruition today.

Regehr for Butler and Byron
Babchuk (panic 2 year signing)
ROR
Jankowski pick (if Vancouver made that pick we would be calling it a complete bust)
Cervenka
Tanguay contract
Hiring his buddy Hartley as coach
making the Flames the smallest softest team in the NHL 2012-13
delaying the rebuild by at least a year.
Bad handling of Iginla trade

-Every team I have gone to work for I have fixed over time
-Toronto was a bigger challenge because of all the pieces that need to be moved, over paid, term
-Realistically he wasn't sure he could move anyone, but he managed to move them all and turn them into assets
-That was 24 months, not the case here, Jay did a good job of keeping under the cap
-We don't have to shovel the stable out here...
Oh god... UFA's?

He didn't fire Feaster to hire Darcy Regier.
Hopefully this means we're getting a Paul Fenton type GM candidate. Not the guy who destroyed the Sabres.

-My plan would be to be patient to see if we can get the guy we want
-We want KK and the owners to meet him, could take a little longer, in the mean time if we can do something to improve the team I will do it
-But the freeze is on till the 27th

It's a GM search but it sounds like Brian Burke has one horse in mind.

The Regehr move can't be viewed in a vacuum either. It was Regehr for shlubs so we could take a run a Richards with a RIDICULOUS contract.

One thing I will say is that I wonder if losing Feaster and Weisbrod has any effect on Gaudreau. I'm pretty sure Johnny mentioned that Feaster has always been great with him and it probably means something to him that these were the pair that drafted him. Hope it doesn't though.

This irks me. Feaster had to take a team with a ton of pieces that were overpaid and had long contracts with NMC/NTC. The dirty work was done by Feaster so Burke can take the glory.

I said it before Flames hire Burke and even now, I am a fan of Burke. He could clean sweep firing Hartley as well.
