There has been a few suspect calls...and I have only been watching for a couple of minutes.
KG shoves Valawhatshisname into Pierce, Val gets called. And how was that not a flagrant on Williams?

3rd quarter was not good. Deron Williams was too much for the Raptors. Then when they started guarding him, Joe Johnson and Pierce were open. So far I haven't seen Landry Fields yet but I didn't start watching until halfway through 3rd quarter. Turnovers is still an issue with the Raptors.
One question though : Did the NBA changed their ruling on travelling violation? How many steps a player gets before they get called for travelling. I have seen so many players pretty much run the ball and no call.

Wow a phantom foul on Vasquez and a technical to boot. Ref pretty much handed the game to Net with less than a minute to go while Nets ahead by 4. Granted Vasquez should have shut up and let Williams take the free throw.

Wow, another f-ing phantom foul by Derozan this time with 40 seconds left. Karma to Nets because Deron Williams missed both the free throw.

Patterson missing both free throws and Landry making a boo-boo trying to touch the ball before it goes out of bounds killed the Raptors' chances. I don't understand why did Landry even tried to touch the ball in the first place because Williams touched the ball last. Too many mistakes by the Raptors tonight.

The Raptors did themselves in tonight. Refs will be refs in the NBA - pathetic and arguably corrupt. But really leading up to the huge comeback, there were selfish shots, lazy 3PT plays, and not enough aggression down low. Even their defence was shoddy at times letting guys come in down low 1 on 3 and still getting the basket easily.
Guys I want to see more of:
Vazquez - was the catalyst for the comeback having sat out most of the 2nd and 3rd (it seemed)
Patterson - aside from the bone headed missed freethrows at key moments, he seems to be an efficient guy. I just think the pressure gets to him during crunch time. Play the guy until the last 3 minutes.
Guys I want to see less of:
Hansbrough - was too slow yesterday and was exposed early. His biggest asset of being aggressive, just wasn't there. Sit him out this series except for particular sub-in moments early in the game.
Johnson - the guy has simply not been there this entire series. Where has the aggression gone? He's not doing anything noteworthy to me which is surprising.
Ross - undersized and overwhelmed at times.

Very disappointed in Ross. I thought he would turn it up in the playoffs.

Jonas is the key to this series. He needs to stay out of foul trouble in game 4, and the Raptors need to pound it inside to him so he gets 15-20 shots. Brooklyn cannot handle him, and when he gets the inside game going it will open up the rest of the offense. It's also turned into way too much hero ball and not enough moving the ball, the thing that turned their season around.
The refs will be the refs in the NBA, but you gotta get past it. Last night was actually mostly horrible on both sides, both teams nearly shot it 40 times from the line which is absurd.

Amir Johnson? seriously? He was good in Game 2 playing along Patterson so I don't get it. He might have a bad Game 3 but pretty much everyone else except Derozan and JV.
Ross, i might have to agree with you because he looks lost out there most of the time. Vasquez can be good if he doesn't force his play. Late in the game made a bonehead pass when he already commited a play then decide to pass to someone. The guy can be good, he can make plays but he tends to make mistakes a lot. I am pretty sure if you look at the numbers of turnovers by Raptors' players his name would be right up there.
I thought the Raps defense was so-so in Game 3. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and even Paul Pierce had a lot of wide open plays especially in the 2nd half. I didn't see Landry Fields in the 2nd half until late in the game. He had an awesome Game 2 defending Johnson and even Pierce. I missed the 1st half so maybe I thought he wasn't that good in 1st half that's why Casey didn't even play in the 2nd half.
Interesting point, what is up with so many rest days in between games? I think the long rest days is favoring the veteran team Brooklyn Nets. Whatever happen to one day rest in between Game 1 and 2 or no rest then one day rest from Game 2 and 3?

NBA scheduling is what's up. This is nothing new, the NBA has been doing this for about a decade now. They've stretched out the first round to extreme lengths so they can get as many games as possible on national TV. Dallas-San Antonio and Miami-Charlotte has gone Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday. In a few years there has been FOUR days between games (so Sunday-Thursday-Sunday, usually involving the Lakers). If the Canadiens and Bruins both swept their series, they could be on Game 1 of the East Semi's before most NBA first round series got to Game 4. Embarrassing but it's not going to change.

Personally, I didn't see his play as exceptional at any point this playoffs (I know you didn't say exceptional, but his play didn't stand out to me). He actually has a look of a puppy dog afraid of being scolded. He's never had a cocky attitude, but he's always played hard and rebounded well. So far there's been none of that. It's hard to replace him, but the guy really needs to step up about now. JV's playing like a vet. Amir has been around long enough that there's no excuse for his poor showings.
