I don't know that anyone has written the words "I hope apple fails" but come on, there's been more than a little enthusiastic discussion about Apple being the next Blackberry, missing key demographics, etc. Maybe not hoping for failure but sure sounded like they were relishing the possibility.

Anyway, rooting for brands is just sport so give us Apple supporters our moment of glory and prepare for the Nexus / next dessert release to counter.

Bertuzzied only mentions shorting the stock when the share price goes down. He probably owns now that the stock is up. His timing is impeccable.

I'd say there's tons on both sides of the fence. Perhaps it's just fun debate that I'm misinterpreting, but it feels like almost every discussion in this realm boils down to a salty, anger reduction. I'm not just pointing to this thread, but almost every iOS vs Android discussion seems to end up the same way.

Maybe if you're super sensitive about it then yah I guess. Despite not using Blackberry I was always rooting for a comeback and despite not being an iOS user (my main computer is still a Macbook pro) I'm not rooting for Apple to fail in the mobile market either. Always just hoping they step their game up.

Fair enough but as a guy who isn't a "supporter" of anyone I tend to look forward to all releases.

I'm debating wiping my iPhone 4 in an attempt to speed up iOS 7...as it's not nearly as snappy as iOS 6 was with it. Web browsing and videos especially suffer. Many times with a youtube video I need to scrub back to the beginning of the video to make it run smoothly. Has anyone wiped their phone and found it more usable?

iOS 7 did a scumbag thing to me this weekend. I updated my old iPhone 4, which I use in a counter-top stereo. When I updated, it turned on iMessage without notifying me, then proceeded to intercept texts sent to me from my friends with iPhones, which meant I wasn't getting the texts on my cell phone (Android) that I'd been using for over a year. Just a head's up to others that may be in the same boat as me...you have to manually turn off iMessage after updating to iOS 7.

As for the sales numbers on the new hardware, that is impressive. Apple certainly does have a loyal following. It's nice to see them almost catching up to the features on Android phones as one of the main reasons I left Apple was because of how outdated the software was. With Apple in Android's rearview mirror and gaining, it should push Android to innovate even more, which will force Apple to follow, which will keep raising the bar to the benefit of us all.

I'm looking forward to the next big jump by Android, Apple, or somebody else, as these incremental updates are pretty boring and I like to be blown away.

Last week I reserved an iphone 5C and 5S. The 5C shipped thursday and my wife is picking it up tonight at a Rogers outlet. Haven't heard peep about when my 5S will be available as there has been no shipping notification or anything so if you need a phone soon you probably won't get a 5S unless you are lucky and either know someone that works at a place that can reserve one for you or walk into a store when they just receive a shipment.

I think this happened last iOS update as well and yes it's annoying but I was quick to disable it as soon as the update was complete on our phones and other devices. Can someone please explain the benefit of iMessage? All I have ever found from it is that it screws up texting between my wife and I (texts are sent but not received, my phone thinks it's her phone as well) and then my ipad receives all the texts we are missing plus all other text conversations. I just turn it off and then everything works as it should but I wish apple wouldn't turn it on after every updated iOS.

Unfortunately, that's probably true. I love the discussion when the dramatics and hysteria are removed though. If you've noticed most of my posts in the tech forum, a lot of them are Mobile based, so I just really enjoy talking about all the new features and products from various companies etc.

I liked iMessage a couple years ago when I had and iPhone as did all my friends. We make a lot a of group plans and you can send and reply-all to group messages very easily. It's a great feature. Now half of us are with Android, but we haven't found a texting solution as awesome as iMessage was.

The only crappy thing was when I sent a photo of a dude jizzing all over a chick to a friend, but instead of just sending it to him, I sent it to him and his very religious wife because we had been in a group chat earlier. Can't blame Apple for that, though.

Did the article specifically say they sold a good amount in China? I scanned through the article but couldn't catch that. It'd be really interesting to hear if they did in fact make some decent ground over there.

I wiped my 3GS and started fresh on iOS6. It made a world of difference speed-wise.

Before selling my 3G and 4 I wiped them. Totally different phones when it's a fresh install. Makes me wonder if going super basic with apps is the way to go.

But them I think of how boring my poops would be without a variety of games to occupy my time.

Good luck thinking this stock is ever going back to $700!

Up $24 today and it's not even back to where it was when they announced the iphone 5s and 5c.

I didn't take it as rude, no worries.

Anyway, I went to the Apple store and picked up a 5c for our employee.

Again, I just love how I can upgrade a phone from iCloud, and when I give the new phone to the employee, it's setup exactly how his replaced phone was setup. That alone pays for iCloud service, instead of having him spend a couple of hours setting up his phone.

It's nearly 3pm, time to rearrange your app drawer and resize your clock font.

Miswell live up to your expectations of me.

Quick aside here: I think you meant to say "may as well".
