The Calgary festival stays true to its name. Not my cup of tea, but there seems to be a cohesive theme to it.

Ben Harper has played Edmonton many times, and hasn't been to Calgary since the early 2000s, Folk Fest or anywhere I'd love to see him again.
Lots of greatness at Winnipeg this year, Wilco, Jason Isbell, Edward Sharpe all would be great to see, and none to rock and roll for a FF

To be fair, they've all been going this route over the last 10 years or more.

We bought tickets to XFest since my fiancee is a huge Alexisonfire fan, and after seeing the lineup, she might want to sell the tickets...
There are a couple of good acts, but overall it is a bit meh. Ellie Goulding? Really?

A few highlights, but really weak overall, going from Jack White and the Smalls last year, to Ellie Goulding? I had no idea who whe was so I looked her up, seems like more of a Vibe act than 92.9

It looks like more of a pop/electronic festival than alternative. I'm pretty happy I can't go this year or I would be very disappointed.

Obviously you're referring to TV on the radio, but Tokyo police club and rural Alberta advantage are two really great Canadian bands. Other than that the rest is complete crap.

Brandon Flowers should rep some Killers tracks on his tour, that'll be cool to see.

TV on the Radio, Eagles of Death Metal and The Rural Alberta Advantage are all fine by me. Maybe not as strong as Jack White/Death Cab last year, but overall it's a decent line up considering the current state of "alternative rock" these days.

Alexisonfire, Brandon Flowers and Eagles of Death Metal are enough reason to buy tickets. Ellie Goulding can shove it.

Anyone remember when single day tickets to X-Fest went on sale last year? It was some time after the weekend passes went on sale. No way I'm going for the whole weekend this year. Might consider a single day based on who is playing when...

Whoever booked Ellie Goulding for this needs to give their head a shake.
She's more Chasing Summer.

Surprised no love for Hozier. His album is incredibly strong and is far more reaching then his top 40 hit.

Tenacious D would be fun.
I saw Tokyo Police Club last year at a festival and it didn't really do it for me.

If Tenacious D is totally acoustic then I'm probably down. If its with the live electric band then I'm less interested. Or if they promise to play Cosmic Shame and Warning then I'll go. Otherwise a pretty weak lineup. At least Ellie looks good I guess.

Probably not. Last time I saw thew Joey Castillo was on drums. I'm sure those two on tour together would be some party...

Pretty disappointing line-up after last year. Ellie Goulding headlining is bizzare - has X even ever played her on the radio?
It was a blast last year and the girlfriend is a big Hozier and Ellie Goulding fan so I will probably end up going again. I've been wanting to see TV on the Radio for a while and St. Lucia are really great too, so hopefully it will be another good one!
But Tenacious D are the worst. God they suck.
