Just a thought. But what about grabbing Anton Volchenkov? Does he still block shots like a champ when he is not hurt? Always liked him in his Ottawa days and then once he went to NJ he kind of fell of the map. Maybe a deal packaging Cammy to NJ for Volchenkov and ?

Volchenkov would still be a decent move in the short term to hold the fort down. I wonder how willing Nashville would be to deal Kevin Klein? The guy still plays hard and can move the puck out of the zone well. A solid "new NHL" kinda guy.

Ference and Nystrom are the kinds of moves that make sense - they are good character guys that fill a relatively short-term need (2 or 3 years).
Phaneuf is the kind of payer that has to be a key piece and would be part of the future, part of the core.
And IMO, he isn't a good core piece - too may bad defensive plays, too little hockey IQ.
Do not want.
Core pieces are guys you think you can build a cup winner with. Does anyone think Phaneuf fits that bill? (other than Moon, maybe)

You are right.
He has neither the hockey sense or the character.

Rags don't have their 1st rounder anymore so that wouldn't be in play at all, unfortunately.

They have a ton of forward prospects I'd like. No clue what Cammalleri is worth though
Looking forward to everyone losing their mind because we get someone they've never seen play/heard of

That's the only team Feaster has won a trade with since becoming GM so I can live with this.

Would imagine Boyle as a possibility from the Rangers

Come on Kris Kreider.
Cammy + 28 for Kreider.
Wishful thinking but it feels like we need a win in a trade.

You don't need to give up a 1st in that deal.

Really? What about Langkow for Stempniak? Or Negrin for Aliu? He got a pick for Karlsson, and an even better pick for Comeau. Also McGratton for Piskula, and his most recent deal for Knight looks good
I consider the Iginla and Bouwmesster deals wins for us but that's just my opinion. There's lots of deals that are pretty much equal or pointless, the only ones I see as loses for Feaster are the Regehr deal and Modin for a 7th

What if they get Richards to CGY at half salary for Cammy and something. Cheaper than buying him out....I think...

Some good points, definitely missed Comeau and Stempniak trades. The minor leaguers and 7th rounder trades I don't really take into consideration. Also thought the Bourque trade was pretty bad and not a fan of him handing out picks for soon to be UFAs.
