They dont have the talent to be good.
Mediocrity goes unrewarded and just breeds more mediocrity. See: Calgary Flames Franchise History from 1996-Present.
But, in this, the circus season they truly sucked and had the opportunity to draft in the top 5 for the first time in franchise history and maybe prevent another couple decades of mediocrity and hoping to sneak into 8th.
I've seen this all before.

Proving to be false. Obviously there has to be some talent there. it may not appease the masses but they don't just pick up scrub beer league players off of the street to play in the NHL. It is a team game and I for one would love to see a more rounded competitive team than building around one player. These guys are buying into the team play and getting good results. Doesn't take superstar talent to be successful. Its just and added bonus.
