Rudy got no calls at the end of the game. Oh well, close game against one of the best.

Tough loss. Anderson made me eat my words and then some. Gay played fairly poorly in what could have been a statement game from him.

Randolph was tremendous defensively as Leo Rautins was oh so happy to point out all night long.

TSN reported that Team Least Clutch has had 24 games that are within 5 points with 5 minutes left.

They are 3 and 21.

Wow.

The coaches better look in the mirror for that one.
The players better start sending out search parties for their willingness to compete over that

Just think, if they were 21 and 3 they would be the best team in the league!

And if they were even 12-12 they'd be a playoff team. Though some games like last night, they end up being in a close game that they have no business being in because someone like Anderson, Lucas, Ross, or Kleiza goes out of their mind for a few minutes. Despite the fact that this game was tied down the stretch, it really wasn't that close on the floor.

Rumours are that Raptors are looking at Haddadi and a 2nd for Telfair. Throwing in a 2nd rounder for a depth PG when this team clearly doesn't have the bigs to compete this year makes no sense to me.

I'm hearing that this trade also includes whichever is lower of the two 2nd-rounders (their own and Sacramento's) that Toronto has.

Remember when Sebastian Telfair was thought to be one of the brightest point guard prospects in the league? What the hell happened? Being Starbury's cousin probably doesn't help matters.

Probably was just overrated has a point guard. He didn't go to college, so that couldn't have helped. High schoolers tend to get overrated and overhyped, when they reach college and the NBA a lot of them do struggle with the competition.

For what he brings to the table he is alright. A pure backup PG who can penetrate and more importantly plays defense. He has even hit the 3pter this year. It's just a minor depth move.

Agreed, for a back up he isn't bad at all. I think he's a better option that JL3.

I would think Bargnani. He wasn't going to bring back anything to help the team this year and likely can be dealt for as much if not more in the off-season.

Now he gets to stick around and take more unwarranted blame that should be directed towards the moron GM that drafted him and play for a crappy team going nowhere.

I'd be 50/50. He was really bad this year and had a ratio of like 1:5 (good games to bad games). He's averaging 40% from the field, 14 points, and barely 4.0 rebounds a game. For being our first/second scorer he was pretty bad!

I'm not optimistic that they'll be able to trade Bargnani for a decent package in the offseason. There are too many UFA big men this year, plus guys being shopped by their teams. It's going to be a flooded market, and it's highly unlikely anyone's going to be sniffing around the Raptors bargain bin until all the other options out there are exhausted. I think there's still an outside shot at Gasol (assuming Howard re-signs in LA on the condition that Gasol is moved and that d'Antoni is insistent on a floor-spacing PF), which actually wouldn't suck, given that Gasol would then be a one-year expiring contract and is a pretty good skill fit for the Raptors. Beyond that, I have a hard time imagining a scenario where they get decent value back for him.

I'd Amnesty him or Klezia. If you trade him, you're likely getting bad contracts back, same goes for Klezia. Booze or Gordon isn't a good deal and it's not like Bargs has much higher value than that anyways.

I think Octo has it right and the eventual move will be for Gasol. Then they have one year to take a run at the playoffs. Or they can just trade the expiring contract. As for the amnesty it's very likely Kleiza. Apparently his operation was botched and he won't play again this year. They may be able to call it a career ending injury and get an insurance payout and cap relief.

Then they could get rid of both of them if no trade for AB / that would be sweet.

Possibly, if you believe that getting rid of Bargnani is straight-up addition by subtraction. Because amnestying him doesn't help the team out in any sort of salary cap sense. They'd still be over the cap and stuck using exceptions for any free agent moves. Bargnani might be more useful to hold onto as filler for future potential trades. They might do better to trade him for someone else's crap, hope that they can polish up said crap enough to resell it for something else down the road. Or get the most talented big they can acquire, regardless of whether that's a bad contract, shoot for a 4-5 seed in the east, and take it from there.

I don't know, there are a bunch of options, and none of them are what I'd call good options.

edit:
Also, St Pats, in regards to Kleiza, he was vigorously denying those injury reports today and saying that he's maybe a week or two away from playing again. But I do agree, it makes by far the most sense to amnesty LK.

I don't think you're getting Pau for Bargnani+. Bargnani would just be in Kobe's whipping boat all day. Theres a reason why the offers are for players like Boozer, Gordon, and Spencer Hawes.

Pau is too good to be traded for Bargs straight up and hardly Bargs +.
