I feel sorry for the people that can't get off, every person that gets off RRO makes the piece of pie that much bigger for those left.

For Enmax folk it's the highlighted bit in the picture below.
But as you point out it's much easier to see in the customer portal (at least for Enmax customers).

Call if you only want to lock in your electricity and you have some easymax stuff and rates grandfathered in. If you do it online, you’ll lose it.

That's interesting.
We used about 10% more power than your household last month (must be all of the incandescent bulbs we still use ) and all of the ENMAX delivery charges on your bill are a little lower, but not always 10% lower, than ours.
However, our admin charge is 15% lower than yours despite using more power.
Both plans are at $0.0689, both plans are Feb 1 to Feb 28th, both plans are actual readings and both plans are EasyMax 5 yr. fixed. I always knew the riders and delivery charges were purposely vague but this confirms that they're voodoo magic.

That is weird.
The UCA helps website doesn't really explain how it's calculated, probably have to go to the Enmax tariff filing to figure that out.

Post a snapshot. I guarantee your days billed are different. The delivery charges are heavily regulated and publicly available.
EDIT: see https://www.enmax.com/ForYourBusines...e_Schedule.pdf
Distribution charge = $0.647903/day + $0.013033/kWh
Transmission charge = $0.042094/kWh
Balancing Pool Allocation = $0.002252/kWh
Rate Riders = $0.009689/kWh + $0.000853/kWh
Local Access Fee = 11.11% of the energy charge charged at the Regulated Rate Option ($0.29677/kWh) + 11.11% of the Distribution Tariff (= Distribution Charge + Transmission Charge + Balancing Pool Allocation + Rate Riders)
DoubleK's bill:
The total is off by a couple cents due to rounding, but the math's all there, it ain't "voodoo magic".

I just wanted to give a shout out to Double K for having a look at my (egregious) bill and confirming that I’m fine on the RRO issue. Didn’t have to go the extra mile, but thank you for doing so!

Reading this thread I had to go check out my plan with ATCO. Huge banner at the top saying
"We’re experiencing high call volumes. The good news is ATCOenergy customers are not affected by changes to the RRO."
Also sad that my fixed rates end in October and gas/electricity is going to double.

The raw cost of your utility bill will go up as your contract is expiring. That's a tough pill to swallow, I get it. Please keep in mind that the RRO is likely to be a good option inside of two years from now. So to the extent you are locking in at 12 or 13, you need to weigh that against at what you've saved versus being on the RRO. As mentioned in this thread, if you lock in on a 5 year plan, you are allowed to exit your plan/contract after one month.
It's quite similar to getting your mortgage right or wrong. The delta between variable and fixed a good parallel in terms of order of magnitude. People that locked in a mortgage rate early last year are laughing. Really comes down to your risk tolerance.
Ps. Thanks to Timun for breaking the charges/rate riders down.

Ok, no jokes allowed. My bad.
But I can promise you our admin fees were lower for 28 days from Feb 1 to Feb 28.
So yes, I trust everything else follows a formula and DoubleK has lower fees across the board for using less electricity but we paid less admin fees.
Maybe our Easymax fees are grandfathered in cheaper?

Or maybe there is a portion that is averaged over 12 months and you only have a couple months history?
Aside from that, our bills look to be quite consistent.

My admin charge is also $6.70. But I notice my rate code at the top is ERHRF, the same as Kevman's. DoubleK's rate code is ERFD5. I tried Googling those and got nothing. If I had to guess, ERFD5 is EasymaxRateFixeD5 year. I'm on a 5 year fixed as well, but only electric. DoubleK, are you fixed gas?
It also says on the Enmax site:
*Rate does not include an administration fee of between $5.90 - $10.00 per site, per month for each of electricity and natural gas as applicable, delivery and other charges depending on usage and service area, or taxes.
So it's not one amount. But who gets what rate? It's rather opaque.

Didn't read like a joke. It read like just another person not knowing how to read their bill. It's a pet peeve of mine that people just shrug their shoulders at the T&D fees and presume that their electrical usage doesn't matter when, in fact, it's almost entirely charges based on usage and lowering consumption would lower their bills.

Must be, possibly some sort of loyalty deal or bundle. I'm on a fixed rate like DoubleK and pay the $0.28/day access fee as he does.

Fixed gas for us.
Been a customer for 12 years but we had a meter swap which led to some of those 0 months.
Community based perhaps? We're in an older community. We're also on 3-phase power instead of 2-phase. I wouldn't think that would impact the admin fee but perhaps it does?

My current enmax rate of 0.06 ends in June and the new rate will be about 2x higher, luckily I am getting solar installed in May so that should help offset the rate increase

Anyone know how they ballpark those Enmax Home Energy reports? Mine always says I'm using like 50-70% more than other households. I've done all that I can for other minor things like LED lightbulbs etc. But those are all little changes.
Maybe the windows would help reheating costs, perhaps replacing the major appliances will get me some extra savings there. My home is older and needs new furnace, windows, fridges that aren't over 20 years old and we have WFH but no EV... so I don't mind seeing like 10-30% more energy, but 50-70% is completely crazy. I even filled in the energy IQ questions. I definitely need an energy audit, but the only other possibility I can think of is that Enmax is lumping my home with other "similar homes" that are 10-20% smaller which amplifies the extra energy usage situation?

is it the electrical or nat gas portion that's driving up your useage compared to similar homes? In my previous house, I always scored less than average comparative energy consumption until I added a gas heater in the garage - although it didnt really increase the gas consumption *that much* it was enough to push the property onto the high end of the enmax comparisons

It doesn't break it out into gas or electric.
"Units represent a combination of electricity (kWh) and natural gas (GJ). This is based on 60 similar homes an average of 2 km from you. Efficient homes are the most efficient 20% of this group."

Mine is all over the place, the last few months Enmax has been telling me my house has been using 4% more energy than similar homes, but last summer I was using anywhere between 75-88% more.
I would guess -- for my house -- it's down to having the air conditioning running, and not everyone has air conditioning.
