Sounds like Hamilton is getting a brand new stadium. Instead of half of Ivor Wynne being demolished, the whole thing will be demolished, and a 22500 seat stadium put in it's place. Quite a small stadium, but better to build from sratch then renovate...
Quote:
City manager Chris Murray advised council that the city learned in the spring that the north stands at Ivor Wynne, which were slated to be renovated, would not accommodate seats with backs because of the grade. After a meeting earlier this summer, officials agreed to build new stands. The project is still expected to meet its $155-million budget.

So because Calgary beat Winnipeg by 1, on a last minute field goal, they aren't the real deal?
Let's look at the Stamps who are 5-2
Toronto 23 Calgary 21
Calgary 34 BC 32
Calgary 21 Winnipeg 20
Edmonton 24 Calgary 19
Calgary 22 Saskatchewan 18
Hamilton 20 Calgary 32
Calgary 45 Saskatchewan 35
You've beaten Saskatchewan 2 times, Hamilton 1, BC 1 and WPG 1.
You've lost to Toronto (week 1 is iffy but still at home) and Edmonton.
Winnipeg has beat BC 2 Hamilton 2 Edmonton 1 Toronto 2
Lost to Calgary by 1 point on a fumble with a 1:30 left and a missed field goal.
Don't see how they are a pretender. Calgary is 3rd in my eyes, today will show their true grit.

Peg fans can keep telling themselves that their team is for real. Today will be a big test for Stamps and the Peggers will get their test vs the Als soon as well.
The fact is the Stamps beat you in Winnipeg when our offence wasn't clicking at all, you can bring up the fact we knocked Pierce but Burris at that point was playing like a rookie as well.
Your defence is amazing, no doubt, but your offence doesn't scare me one bit with or without Pierce. Where as our offence can be very potent when they're on. Lets see how well they do against a very good Als team.

On a side note, can't wait for the next episode of Extra Yard.... Barker looks like he is extra whiny, I guess going 1-4 in this episode will be tough to put a spin on, but he sure looks like a toilet complaining every call to the Refs.

Happens more with CFL than any other leagues with NFL cuts and new imports taking big jumps halfway through the season.
There have been plenty examples of mediocre teams rising quickly in theCFL compared to other leagues.
I think early on play is a better indicator than record.

I don't expect the Bombers to beat Montreal on the road, but that's not because they're not for real. Last season, Winnipeg lost 9 games by 4 or fewer points; this year luck has been on their side more in the other direction in those same close games. Perhaps they haven't clicked on all cylinders offensively but they are still a good team. The Stamps beating them by one point a month ago doesn't change that.

The Bombers are a great defensive team but fairly average offensively. They deserve full marks for their record but until they beat another "top" team then there will be questions on how good they really are. IMO they are one of the top 3 teams in the league and clearly either the best or 2nd best in the East. They will host at least one playoff game this year.

They can only possibly host one playoff game, hehe.

Stamps now sitting at 6-2 vs the rest of the west and Edmonton sinking looks damn good!

To be fair that's like a guy from Mississippi making fun of someone from Alabama by calling them an inbred hick.
And when was the last time Winterpeg won a GC? 25 years ago?

Seeing as Saskatchewan has won 3 Grey Cups in 101 years of existence, in an 8-9 team league, I wouldn't be one to bring up Grey Cup stats.
Although not having won a Grey Cup in 21 years is pretty sad.
