I hope they kicked his sorry ass out the door of a helicopter in some random spot over the Arabian sea with cement overshoes up to his ankles and that he has eels working their way through his mouth into his stomach to eat him inside out right now.

My favourite Onion story, published Sept. 26, 2001 and I think it fits Osama today:

No. Check out how corpses are released into the Gagnes river in India. They're wrapped and left in the water. Granted, that is a Hindu practice and not an Islamic one, but not all sea burials are conducted that way.

DNA match confirmed according to CNN.

They have pictures of him both in the "compound" and being let go at sea...though I doubt they are released to the public right away.

I am a little skeptical.

Before Obama spoke, all of the major news channels were reporting that the US had Bin Laden's body for awhile (some said a week) and had done conclusive DNA testing. There were a couple different theories, and the theory that he was bombed and killed was most prevalent. In fact, while President Obama was speaking, Fox News was still running a ticker that said 'Osama Bin Laden killed a week ago.' Now normally, if it were just Fox News with this theory, I might shrug it off but every news channel was reporting that he had been dead for days and the US had his body. Now the news says that Bin Laden was buried at sea and no country would take his remains.

If you google it, a lot of links to the 'Osama dead one week ago' have been broken, but there are message boards rampant with questions on about the conflicting reports. I just read one story on TIME's website that said the DNA evidence was taken from the body before the burial at sea and it's still in process, and they didn't want to bury Bin Laden for fear of a shrine to him by his people (which makes sense).

I am not trying to make a big conspiracy, I am just saying that the whole thing sounds pretty shady to me. I don't think we'll ever really know what happened. I just hope another videotape doesn't surface with Osama holding a paper up from the future, in the future.

I hope, for all of the people who were killed in 9/11, for all of the military who selflessly gave their lives (Canadians, Americans and allies), for all of the civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan who died, for all of the strife and heartbreak suffered by families of the victims-- that Osama Bin Laden's death gives hope for peace, and gives some closure to the immense grief he has caused.

I tend to think the people who were pissed at America before, were pretty much already working on doing as much harm as possible already. Losing Osama isn’t going to increase the temperature any – the pots already boiling. I do think that while this is a huge deal in America, that overall, the uprisings in the middle east in Egypt, Libya, and Syria are a far greater bellwether of the decline in power of fundamentalism, and groups such as Al-Qaida.

Now, the fact the United States only notified Pakistan AFTER the raid is pretty telling in my opinion. “Ally” in name only. That’s a relationship that will likely sour very rapidly as facts come out about how embedded in the Pakistan elite Bin Laden was.

No, because the world has never been lied to before by presidents and politicians.

I dont get it...why would they wait a week? What purpose did it serve?

Instead of announcing this in primetime for all the country to see, Obama instead called a hasty address that went live after 11 PM on a Sunday night and missed a huge part of the audience he could have had?

Why is there a conspiracy behind EVERY damn thing these days. Its so annoying.

It could basically be called one. A messy one given the gunfight, but still an assassination.

The only reason to lie about something like this is to benefit from doing so.

how does delaying this ........benefit anyone?

Won't argue this. But just because one President lies doesn't mean another will ...

Chances are if the U.S. had informed or asked Pakistan for permission that their ISS would have either intervened or would have spirited Osama off before the Seals got there.

He was assassinated, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The U.S. government better come up with solid proof of identity, and release it to the public. No "national security" excuses.....

I find this a bit fishy because it is widely known that Bin Laden had kidney disease even before 9-11, and needed dialysis machines to survive.

How long can you have a body on ice in a morgue? Maybe Bin Laden was killed earlier, and the establishment wanted to wait for a politically opportune time to declare his death....
