Note: Oilers are already dipping into the LTIR pool that has Walman, Roslovic, Clattenberg, Philp and Kapanen on LTIR. So far no one has been designated season ending LTIR. and unless they mark Jarry as season ending, they are limited on his LTIR benefit.

Will be harder to pull off another Kane now that they're on watch.

Stupid rules!

Even then, Looking at his stats. He's pretty mid for a goalie and not a upgrade on Pickard who they'd probably have to jettison out.

It is funny seeing Oilers media and fans trying to convince people that Jarry is not, in fact, injury prone. It is just bad luck!

Isn't that one of the things he is known for?

I think it was Dreger saying that they made the move for Jarry now so it gives them enough time to evaluate and make a move for a different goalie before the trade deadline if it didn't work. If the injury is long term, it probably forces them to do just that.

It would be hilarious to see them burn the paltry few tradeable assets they do have on goalie after goalie.

There are just not really any goalies available. If I'm Buffalo I hold out for a 2026 2nd for Lyon and something additional if I have to take salary back.

Maybe Varlamov or Rittich later in the season, maybe Quick if the Rangers fall off, but doubt Quick is interested in that.

Oilers have no cap space and very few assets. Why do people think they can make all these trades?

Jarry was probably warned by Skinner on what it’s like in Edmonton, so he injured himself

It's hilarious how they take all his injuries and average them over his whole career, when 95% of his injuries have happened in the past few seasons.

Since April 15, 2022, Jarry had not played in 141 games for Pittsburgh, with 28% of them due to injury and 12% due to being in the AHL.

He played 4 years of junior in Edmonton, he should know what it's like there better than most. The only thing that's different from his junior days is the new arena.

Really? Do the Oil Kings still suck?

In fairness its not like Pittsburgh is the 'Paris of Pennsylvania' either.

I can't recall how many times I wondered how a team was going to get out of sticky cap situation, but everyone seems to figure out a way every time. And, I'm sure Edmonton will as well. But, they have to find ~$3MM to activate Walman off the LTIR which could be in a couple of weeks.

“Paris of Pennsylvania” is a great line, that’s how I’ll refer to Pittsburgh in the future.
