Alex Nylander is no good. He is what Rob was to Scott.

Woahh now .. So far he hasn't progressed like William but it is WAAAAYYY too early to suggest something like the above. He has had underwhelming #'s but he is coming off an injury to start the year which set him back a bit but he was drafted 8th overall just like his brother for a reason and its too soon to right him off as much as you do with that post... he's 19 YO.

I feel like posters just hear names and all they know is that one season where the hockey world was talking about them and figure they're still that.

That is pretty harsh, Alex still has plenty of time to develop yet. Comparing him to Ice Capades is a bit much.

pure speculation by Friedman on 960 but he says Sabres would want Brodie+ for Kane when asked by the morning show if Brodie would be enough to land Kane.

What was the last thing Pinder asked Elliotte? Related to this?

I would trade for Kane if an affordable extension was in place. And depending on what the + was I would do it too.

Don't the Sens kind of have to hold onto him for now? What an epic failure if they give up Turris and picks for Duchene, only to turn around and trade him at perhaps his lowest recent value.

I dunno, I'd be reluctant on spending large assets on Kane. If he's the most enticing and available guy available this deadline, I'd just wait till the offseason to what you can get if you dangle one of our come draft day.

I am intrigued by a guy like Kane and his skill set.

But once upon a time, the Flames locker room used to be considered a place that could absorb a certain type of player and help him "conform" a little bit and not be disruptive.

Is that true about today's team? What kind of environment would a guy like Kane walk into?

There's plenty of other forwards I'd rather throw 6 million to, perhaps for shorter term even:

If Vegas falls out of the race (unlikely at this point though) I rather try and get James Neal either as a trade or sign as a UFA.

Calgary has had:

Rob Neidermayer
Valerie Bure
Marcus Granlund
Wayne Primeau
Staffan Kronwall
Drew Shore
Jocelyn Lemieux
Max Reinhart (we somehow got the worst of the underwhelming lot)
Jason Botterill (we get the lesser sibling even when the other is female)
Ted Drury (OK, we got Chris, but too little, too late)

Similar to this, we also had Brendan Mikkelson
