I'll just line my entire office in plastic to complete the ensemble.

No one’s going to think your medical though. The flip-flops are a dead giveaway!

Nonsense! Flip-flops are ideal medical attire! They're perfect!
After all the grime, gore and effluvia you can just hose 'em off!

Albeit I've strayed away from suits over the last few years, I've always gone with the James Bond style rules. The most stylish and classy guy I have ever known lives by and introduced me to them. You always have a classic fit, it will almost never go out of style, and most tailors will know exactly what you mean when you ask for a James Bond cut.

Hopefully your tailor's Bond experience wasn't limited to Roger Moore
The pockets might be damned useful though.

I'm sitting at my desk at the large window of my second floor home office that faces the street. It's about 10 feet to the sidewalk.
Dufus extraordinaire in his ####ty minivan pulls up in front. Gets out, goes around to the back bumper and stands on the sidewalk. Intends to take a piss right on the middle of the sidewalk but sees me as he's looking around just at the last second so he turns and starts peeing on his back tire instead. Then I knocked on the window mid stream so he felt embarrassed and he walked around to the driver side while keeping the stream going. Dogs at least know to go on the grass or in the bushes.
Across the street is treed greenspace that spans many blocks.
|
I saw an old man do this in the middle of a Montreal street. Extremely odd.

Not really. If I went to my eye doctor and they were wearing scrubs I’d think that’s weird.

I think Sliver should lean into it more by only wearing clothing made from the items he sells in his shop.
He’d be a trendsetter!

Well that is assumed with the hospital comment. Hospital/clinic/medical centre - that is just parsing words.
Scrubs aren’t “professional” attire. They serve a functional purpose and outside of being used for that purpose, they sure don’t scream professionalism to me.
I would hope a surgeon serving on a public company board or making a speech to academics doesn’t show up in scrubs.

There are also some pretty high end scrubs. Carhartt, Figs etc.
I am not wearing scrubs to a meeting.

Nice scrubs are still scrubs. I don’t associate any rando in scrubs as someone who knows what they are doing.
If you think your scrubs are telling people you know what you’re doing, why aren’t you wearing them to a meeting?

Depends on how many bodily fluids may be flying around in the meeting

When was the last time you went to the eye doctor? Dentist? Fine. Optometrist? No way.

If it means my eye doctor finally starts wearing pants of any kind, I’m ok if it has to be scrubs.

Prior to COViD, never wore scrubs to work. Always casual pants (not jeans) of some sort and a dress or golf shirt. Now, scrubs only with my name and clinic name embroidered on. I’m never going back to smart casual. Now I roll into the office in whatever I want, change into scrubs and go to work. I think most dentists younger than me already wore scrubs anyways.
Actually, get quite a few compliments on them as the whole staff is now colour coordinated

My mom's pharmacy is exactly the same. Switched to scrubs and they all love it

As someone who works in an office full of women, I wear the colours they tell me to.
