How the Oilers can outman them on the puck at every opportunity (whole shorthanded) is baffling.
That was truly ugly

Shilovs steal + Skinner letting in a softy or 2 is the only way Vancouver has a chance.
Edmonton is by far the better team now amongst the skaters.

There is one of the worst statistical goaltenders in net right now for the Oilers and the Canucks aren’t even making him sweat.

If Quinn hughes isn't injured then wow...I know he's gonna win the Norris but Makar is so much better it isn't even close at all.
He can't move across the blue line on the pp to get a better lane. Just makes bad passes to the corner.

Jesus now I’m hoping this is still tied at the end of the second period. Or the third.

Tocchet should be getting heat for this. It's his job to adjust to make his team produce. In order to win games, you have to score more goals than the opposition. In order to score, you have to shoot.
I don't think a shot a period is gonna cut it.

Thought Savard was going to Toronto, not already in Vancouver.
Canucks highlight was Pettersen hit. 2 shots, one on a dump in, and 2 attempts on net in 4 minute pp.

Hughes is not engaged at all, just standing still on the blueline, and if it comes to him, he's just looking to get rid of it.
Without Hughes contributing, they ge erate nothing.
Having said that, I thought actual chances were pretty even that period.

The good news is, they aren’t down. A lucky bounce could change everything

To be honest, Vancouver is probably the weakest playoff team that made it to the 2nd round. Their lack of playoff experience really shows.
They're giving off real "we're just happy to be here" vibes.
That's the kind of period that non-playoff teams have.

If the Canucks continue their current play, it will be an easy shutout for Skinner.

Expected goals were 0.9 to 0.4. Despite the shots the Oilers didn't generate a ton either.

Canucks lucky not to be down, Silovs has kept them in it. Time for the rest of the team to step up. They are somehow making the Oilers look good defensively.

Sportsnet has so much pity for Canucks, that they're focusing all their attention on the Canucks.

Nah, that PP looks discustingly similar the Flames PP. Nobody wants the puck and can't win a battle

True. They're also just one chance away, if Mikheyev had better hands, from it being 1-0 up at the break.
