That was one of the more feeble performances by the bats this year.

Some great hair on some of the Marlins. Kenny Powers would fit right in.

Now that the season is done it's time for Rogers to do the right thing and clean house.

They probably won't though because it's too obvious.

I watched more than I should've today, the last half of the game in the background, and Dan and Buck went through the entire lineup and bench with some basic analysis of the year and who may be back and what has to happen in the offseason, and it wasnt sugar coated.

That said, at zero point (IIRC) did they talk about the future of management or coaching. My guess is they know the axe is probably going to fall there sooner than later.

2-10 in their last 4 series all against mediocre competition. Not sure if other pitchers figured out the new guys or everyone just gave up. Time for big changes.

I didn't watch- would it be worth catching the replay for that do you think?

Shapiro is safe. He speaks their language while also growing up around baseball. Atkins, I'd wager is gone. When the GM goes the easiest thing is for the new GM to bring in their own staff, and with Schneider being around for about three years, I'm not sure they'll keep him around. To me Walker from that staff is the only one who has shown talent. Every other person seems to have produced mediocrity over the years.

Do not get rid of Pete ####ing Walker. He's the only one making a positive difference on this team.

Yeah, Walker's probably the only guy I would spare. The rest can piss off.

Correct move is to let go both Shapiro and Atkins

Not sure if either will be fired

I'm not sure Shapiro should be let go - he clearly has been able to work well with Rogers and the Rogers board to get the required investments the Blue Jays needed.

Has played a big role in both the Dunedin and Rogers Center facility upgrades.

Those are big things that help teams compete in the long term, even if it hasn't worked in the short term.

I largely agree. But let’s be honest, his job is also to supervise the progress of the baseball club and he failed at that. For the record I think he’s likely the best option out there so I don’t think they should get rid of him. But his job was to handle the baseball club and not just the facilities being built/ modified. I sincerely hope he takes responsibility for that.

Yeah Im on the fence about Shapiro. It feels like he really wasn't involved in any of the baseball op's over the last few years, maybe to a fault even, as he was so focused on the business side. But if his loyalty is what is keeping Atkins in house then I wouldn't be upset if he's let go.

A lot of the insiders around the team are hinting at status quo as far as management positions go. So I wouldn't get my hopes up too high about drastic changes. But in reality there is a lot of work to do. And none of it should begin before signing Vlad. Just give that man a contract FFS. All he wants to do is stay, win, and have a .950ops.

From a business side, stadium reno's are great

From an Operations side of things, Jays are a mess....

Will he stay status quo and keep Atkins..

My guess he won't fire Atkins

For this reason, both have to go.
