Barney stays in left and leads off, Saunders is DH, Tulo is clean up, Lake stays in right, Thole catches for Estrada.

Interesting.

Agreed Thole is barf.

Lake though - still figuring out the big leagues but can still put the bat on the ball occasionally (wrc+ this year is 89)

I should've added the link from Davidi, here it is. That is one strange looking lineup.

Will be nice to see what Morales brings to the table. I didn't even know Loup was still with the club in Toronto.

Interesting line up. Hopefully its just extra rest days for Martin and he's not nursing an injury.

Why is Thole catching for Estrada? I want to vomit because that means I have to watch him play twice this weekend.

EE on the other hand I can see staying. At least I hope he does or he'll haunt us every time we play the Sox.
The Jays are in "go for it" stage this year. Unless you are convinced that whatever you trade Jose for can do more for you this year than Bautista himself can, the team would be fools to deal him. Go for it, then let him walk and take the compensatory pick.

I wonder how much money Thole has in his bank account that he can personally thank RA Dickey for? This guy would be playing for the Winnipeg Goldeneyes in an independent league if it wasn't for Dickey.

What's odd is, at one point in time, he must have been a half decent hitter. Got to the MLB without Dickey, and hung around because of him.

Now he looks like he has zero clue up there. He's had a couple better games recently, but overall, I've never seen a worse MLB hitter.

Also, Martin is out at least a couple days after a supposed knee injury which he suffered slipping in the shower/sauna.

That's it. Martin is banned from taking a shower until the post season.

I just looked it up. Josh Thole has made close to 7M in career earnings at the MLB level. I want to cry.

Yeah, I'm not saying trade Jose at all costs or for a draft pick. But if it's for a player under team control for a couple years and the deal makes sense I'd do it. I just hate keeping players you know you'll lose in the off season, and I still think the Jays will have a decent team next year as well, as long as EE can somehow come back.

Yeah, if Stroman can get his act together the rotation looks pretty solid still next season with him, Estrada, Happ and Sanchez anchoring it. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Jays re-sign Dickey to be honest as he'd be a solid "bargain bin" type signing who already fits in the room and can eat innings all season as a 4th/5th starter.

Would still be strong up the middle too with Pillar, Tulo, Martin, Travis as regulars and Goins/Barney could also still be around as solid depth players.

Plus MVP at 3rd and stirring the drink offensively, but it sure would be nice to bring back EE.

Other than Osuna, the bullpen still looks to be a hot mess, but that can be fixed in the off season.

Should be a competitive team next year still, as long as they don't have a fire sale, but they do really need EE's bat back IMO.

I really don't miss Adam Lind on the Jays. He always struck me as a guy who had a bad attitude.
