The batters need to change their approach and try to hit that outside pitch the other way instead of hitting weak grounders to short.

I’d like to blame the manager but this team is not constructed well. Too many right handed hitters and the few lefties that they have are complete trash. It makes it easy to game plan against them. Having lefties in the lineup forces pitchers to throw different types of pitches to get them out which creates lots of opportunities for mistakes.

Against a good leftie hitter, the cutter and slider from a right handed pitcher would be coming inside to them. To get outside…the pitcher would have to find ways to pitch to the outside which opens them up to mistakes over the plate because there aren’t a ton of pitches that naturally move away from a leftie from a right handed pitcher.

Another brutal offensive outing. Looked good to start and then a parade of 1-2-3 innings. Only 98 pitches to get through 7 full innings. Meanwhile Manoah did season high 107 on only 5.2
