This site has authors of a lot of opinions.

On a losing streak, the holes that are sinking the ship need to be plugged - and some posters are drawn to the site to talk about that.
On a winning streak, those holes aren't touching water as we float on cloud 9 - and posts talking about the holes are being debbie downers.

It's not like you're seeing anyone flop an opinion, you're just seeing the keyboard passed around.

But, so far I have to say I'm hoping for a settling in of our forward and defence roster. I think we have the personnel here to make things interesting... and you always have confidence that if there's an upgrade out there, Brad knows about it. There are some pieces that could be upgraded on, and I'm a bit worried about the cap but we have a pretty good base to work on.

"Lol" and "Oh my" don't really provide any counter arguments.
He was also a Selke caliber 2 way player...something Monahan is not.

Let's just have 12 Monahans for forwards, he's the best forward in the league apparently, mine as well.

If the team had 12 forwards all as good as Sean Monahan I think we would have the best forward core in the league, so that's a weird comment.

Independent of how "elite" Monahan is, those of you who would like to see him used as a number 2 centre: who could we possibly acquire that is actually good enough to warrant bumping down Monahan?

It was a joke... You know the 6 Giordano meme...

As for centers, I'd wonder if the Blues would consider moving Schenn, or if the flyers would consider moving Cotourier. Those ones you will have to trade the farm for though.

Of course there is Duchene, who would come the cheapest.

Uhm, ugh. Seems like wasting breath on a clear Monahan detractor but....

The OG question was who can you get that is better....BETTER than Monahan to bump him down to the 2nd line. Not just randomly tossing out a couple of names.

But we don't need someone better then Monahan, we need someone to center the second line.

3 of our top 5 forwards play centre and play it well. Getting another one is loopy, makes more sense to add a middle six winger than a top six centre, and even that might be superfluous given the actual needs of this team.

With the emergence of Point and the recent signing of Laurel Gourde, I suspect the Lightning might be looking to move one of Stamkos or Johnson for cap space, probably Johnson given Stamkos is the bigger name. IDK what we'd need to give up to make it happen, but I like the look of

Tkachuk-Johnson-Lindholm
Gaudreau-Monahan-X
X-Bennett-Neal

Tyler Johnson is good but hes not better than Monahan.
I agree that we could use another top 6 centre but I'd still play the Monahan gaudreau line as our top line.

My son actually witnessed someone using a construct I never imagined. He saw an FB post using "instead've"

Agree to disagree. Tyler Johnson's numbers don't really do him justice. He's basically Backlund, but faster and with finish.

So you're saying you can't win a Stanley Cup with Marchesault, Eakin, Nosek, Carpenter and Lindberg as your center depth?

Sounds about right.

Ummm, their 1-2-3-4 centers were Karlsson-Haula-Eakin-Bellemare
