I'm about to join in with the people complaining about how long this is taking. I know what a painful process it is to count these ballots because I've seen how they do it, but the numbers that are coming in right now are just really disappointing. It's as if there was a real urgency to keep counting until Joe Biden took the lead in Georgia and Pennsylvania, and then they just kind of stopped.
There are about 10,000 ballots left to count in Georgia. There are, presumably, election workers working there today. Finish them. There have been fewer than 400 votes reported in the past 4 hours. This is absurd.
Same thing in PA - sure, there are 35,000 ballots in Allegheny that will sit there until 5pm for legal reasons. Fine. But that doesn't stop you from making the same rate of progress on the other 100,000+ ballots that are outstanding that you made yesterday. Yesterday they were doing about 10-20k per hour, which is slow, but it's progress. Right now they're going at about 10% of that speed. If there's a new and different hold up, I want to know what it is, because that's really not good enough.
Yea, I'm not sure what the hold up is either. We're on day 4 now, FFS. This crap should be long over by now. I mean, you definitely want to be accurate and transparent, especially with all the bulls**t currently being peddled by Trump and the GOP. But you'd think there would be a better/faster way of doing this while still being accurate with the count.
Pennsylvania said they'd be doing another update this afternoon, but the official said that would be only be for around 3,000 ballots or so?? Ridiculous. I was hoping they'd finally call it for Biden today, but now it's looking like this will keep dragging into the weekend.
If Trump ends up going to jail, does he still get the Secret Service protection provided to former presidents?
I was wondering the same thing, at least they’ll be able to proofread the book he’s gonna write in there, The Art of My Struggle.
The more important question to me would be can he still run in 2024 if he’s in jail? It sounds crazy but he’s going to be considered a martyr by a lot of people for anything bad that does happen to him.

Anyone involved with the ballot counting process. You don’t think the people volunteering at the remaining polling stations aren’t more than a little worried about how they’re going to get out of there?

I wasn’t suggesting anything, just asking for clarity of your statement.

Fixing it is actually simple, democrats need to govern in a way that provides tangible benefits to them. Exercise government power to fix their problems. The Democrat brand is trash because they stopped helping rural and working class voters decades ago. They sold out their jobs to China and told them to move across the country and learn to code and if they complained told them they were stupid because some economist said they were better off this way.
Your solution essentially boils down to trying to con them.
Not at all. I agree with you. This is why Sanders was so popular in these areas, despite being branded a socialist.
This is what I was talking about previously. The reasons Republicans do well with a many of these folks is because they're willing to at least speak to the problems plaguing many of these communities. The problem is, because the Republicans are the only ones willing to speak to them, they also get to control much of the narratives surrounding them.

Apparently Trump's lawsuits are slowing things down in Philadelphia. They had to stop for 2 hours yesterday due to a court order, and now they can't use a good portion of their tabulating area because observers have to stand so close to the counting. That means that some of their tables and machines aren't available to be used because the layout can't really accommodate that.

Is that like the girl won't go out with you just because you're a nice guy checking her out, you actually have to walk over and ask her out?

Nah. If trump is in the clink I bet his kid runs with the sole intention of a pardon if he wins.

Pretty sure they haven’t been living there and have been coming and going already.
I also worry that the longer this drags on, the more bats**t insane Trump and his cronies will get. Not to mention an increasing possibility of violence from the MAGA cult. These lunatics are already foaming at the mouth. Just imagine how nuts they're gonna be over the next few days if this isn't resolved.

I truly think you can relax on this one. The sense of inevitability is growing by the hour. Trump’s hot air is gaining no traction, either in the courts or with respectable members of his party.
I know there are some hard core political junkies in here but it might be time to stop refreshing the results every minute. Take a deep breath.

Fox News is already playing clips of Democrats from the 2000 election to try to make them look like hypocrites. Conveniently not mentioning that the decisive state of Florida had a spread of about 1,800 prior to the recount while Pennsylvania has a 15K spread with 100K+ ballots left in Democrat heavy counties.
It's a blessing that Trump's dour mood seems to be keeping him from speaking publicly too much. He's really the person who amps up his supporters - his proxies just don't have that kind of connection with them.
If things are going to get out of hand at any of the polling stations, today and tomorrow are the most likely times. People still have to work, but Friday nights and Saturdays are are ripe for people doing stupid things. Think about the size of your average entertainment district crowd on a Friday night, then imagine them all directing their anger towards one building.
Honestly, I'm still stunned about how smoothly it's gone so far, so there's good reason to be optimistic this won't happen - or won't be sizable - but it seems to me that if it's going to happen, it will be in the next couple of days.
I hope every piece of #### Republican who is actively involved in this disinformation campaign is tarred with it for the rest of their political careers. Not that that'll matter to GOP voters.
