Looks like she was getting busy before she gave into Joker. Or Joker is a long lost relative of the late great John Holmes.
I mean seriously, you could drive a Pizza delivery van into that thing.

I have family working at Bioware and know what's going on over there most of the time. This whole "controversy" is blown out of proportion. If gamers are going to be that anal and ignoring how a real development process might work and don't understand (or just plain disagree with) the business decisions that go into DLCs, then just wait a couple of months because you know it's all going to come out as some GOTY, Complete Edition, Trilogy Bundle, etc. that includes everything for a bargain price down the road.
That said, I'm no EA defender. I know a lot of Bioware employees were pissed off at EA for what they forced them to do with Dragon Age 2. Dragon Age: Origins had almost 7 years of development. EA gave Bioware 7 months to pump out DA:2 and therefore you get what you get. I'm told the Mass Effect team is much tighter and has more autonomy.

Were your relatives also the BW employees who decided to make that gif too to gain some interweb support?
I get that BW / EA feels entitled to provide DLC whenever they want. Heck they might as well have published it prior to release for all I care, but - DO NOT LIE about it and claim that you cannot put the content on the disk because it wasn't created yet, and then have it show up on the disk.

I'm past a major priority mission on the Citadel now. In fact that mission had the best renegade point I've ever chosen to take (I'm usually a paragon). In terms of the Prothean DLC guy, is there any point now in downloading him in this playthrough?

How do you know it was a lie? Gamers are making a lot of assumptions. That some assets existed on the disc doesn't mean the DLC was fully completed at the time the disc went gold for mastering.
You can dig into the disc of practically every game and find content that was cut or incomplete or traces of other builds and other artifacts. Sometimes the developer just runs out of time given the time-line their publisher gives them and yes, they do patch or complete that content afterward. Sometimes they just cut corners and ignore that it exists. Sometimes it's free. In this day and age, you will have to pay money for it if you are an early purchaser. Smart gamers just wait a few months for the discounted complete packs that inevitably come out.
If the entire completed and polished DLC was on the disc and simply locked out to the player and EA lied about it, that's a different story and likely the work of some lame PR person that has nothing to do with the hard working developers of the game.

I'm still waiting for the ME1 and ME2 DLC bundles.
It's rather condescending to say that gamers don't know how the development process works. "Support" can include new content simply because it improves the value proposition of the base game. There is no reason why content developed by a seperate team has to incur a seperate fee, no matter where its release date falls. There is also no good reason why Mass Effect's DLC never goes on sale, as Steam has PROVEN that sales increase profit.

Well on the PC side at least, one of the biggest issues of contention is that EA started up Origin because they didn't like Valve's rules about how much of a slice they took on DLCs or how they were bundled or sold. Why they aren't on sale on Steam is probably an EA decision. EA wanted free control of their DLCs.
So you are saying that all support should be free and software made by separate teams should also be free? That's a huge sense of entitlement. Companies exist to make money. The majority of sales (for console games at least) happen at release and then it drops off considerably. Why shouldn't they try to maximize their profit? If this issue bugs people so much, then don't fork over the extra $ for the DLC. Vote with your wallet.

That would fall squarely on the shoulders of Microsoft. For whatever reason, they rarely have sales on the stuff people actually want. I picked up all of the DLC for Dragons Age: Origins and Awakening on Steam during a sale. It remains to be seen if EA will do that kind of thing, but I think in order for them to successfully compete with Steam they'll have to.
In regards to "free DLC," Microsoft is also partially to blame for this. I remember a while back for Gears of War 1 or 2 (I can't remember which) Epic came out and said they were releasing some map packs for free. I believe Microsoft told them they'd have to charge money for it.

He's talking about PC. It is true what you are saying also, that Microsoft very restrictive and draconian rules (that are also VERY EXPENSIVE) for developers to put out DLCs and even things like free patches for gamers.
I was reading one developer blog where they said they don't bother putting out patches or new content on the Xbox 360 because of how expensive it is for them to roll something out on Xbox Live.

Ah my mistake. If EA wants to compete with Steam then Origin is going to have to start having some big sales on their exclusive titles. As it stands, the only thing I use Origin for is something to boot up so I can play BF3. So he is absolutely right.

Playing this is making me want to go through the entire series again anyways. I think I may do that in the near future.

Re: your spoiler:
Also, %$@ EVERY POSSIBLE ENDING IN THIS GAME. I was so annoyed with the ending I got that I looked up all the others, and every last one of them is terrible. I haven't been this pissed off at the ending of a game since KOTOR2. At least that one had the excuse that LucasArts forced it out the door in an incomplete state so it could make a Christmas release. The conclusion of ME3 and the 120+ hours I've spent with these characters over the course of three games has no reason to be this godawful.

All this talk is why I want to go back and play the other two again first. That way there will be time for them to change the ending if there is enough pushback, as that Forbes article suggests. I can't decide if I just want to plow through since I am half done and then go back or to just go back. I never did finish KOTOR2 because of all the horrible feedback on the ending though.
