c'mon thats a super weak response. lets just leave that part out. aside from the fact that a lot of the complaints come from top guys (a good example is when chuckienz said the latest tuner was awful and he is a very elite player) the fact remains that every game EA puts out has to cater not only to the super elite play all the time guys, but also the casual have fun players as well.

the thing that sucks is every time there is a complaint about gameplay people just say 'change the sliders to fit your style' but that is a cop out too. first, play is shifting more and more online where you don't have the ability to change sliders. and second, you can't expect more casual gamers to spend days weeks or months of their gaming experience playing games they feel aren't set right so they can tweak sliders till they are happy. tweaking sliders should be an option for fine tuning gameplay not totally overhauling the total suck level of the AI. and i know you didn't specifically mention this WW, just a related rant i wanted to get out.

and one last thing i would like to say is if you want to see how awful the AI is, just start a goalie BAP. the AI still will pass back and forth from wing to forward repeatedly. its only slightly better than before. not to mention their general hockey strategy is just abysmal. so while i do love broken sticks this year, i am disappointed that the AI continues to be awful and possibly even worse this year.

Another week, another tuner update is set to come out. It's schedule to go live at 2AM PST/5AM EST.

Adjustment highlights:

-Increase maximum speed when hustling (L3).
-Easier to generate/maintain speed doing forward crossover turns.
-Decrease goalie acceleration.
-Increase chance of penalty when a stick lift breaks a stick.
-Decrease chance of stick lift causing a dropped stick.
-Increase to slap shot power
-Increase non-puck carrier acceleration and agility and decrease puck carrier acceleration and agility.
-Weaken shots in certain situations that were leading to goals with too high a frequency when cutting across the middle of the ice.
-Increase chance of losing balance when carrying the puck (Versus, OTP/EASHL and HUT only).
-Increase chance of losing the puck when deking or turning sharply (Versus, OTP/EASHL and HUT only).
-Increase chance of tripping on a poke check (undoing previous change that affected online and HUT modes online).

The changes that affect offline games are contained in tuning version V1.03. You can opt not to use them by switching to V1.02.

The main objectives of the update are to reduce the amount of solo skating and tune scoring balance. The "losing an edge" animation where the player falls down that was rarely seen previously will now happen more often, in particular when a player does a lot of sharp turns with the puck and is getting bumped by opposing players. Almost all stick lifts that break the stick will result in a penalty.

The next tuning update will probably be next week.

i am certainly glad they are trying things. additionally, doing these so often does allow for feedback which can help refine the changes. its seems like in each update they do at least take care of a few or the more needed things. the stick breaking would be a good example in this latest one.

So as the Flames in my Be A GM mode, I'm first in the division, third in the conference. Vancouver is second in the division, eleventh in the conference.

Well, actually they're tied for seventh with five other teams, but they're sitting in eleventh.

The new tuner pack is much better. Got a penalty on the first broken stick/stick lift. The lame slap shots from the side boards seem to have a reduced frequency of scoring which is nice. Saw some pretty poor goals this week.

Of course the game has to appeal to casual fans as well, and maybe EA should look into a less competitive online league. But it's just the nature of online, if you are casual and get on to play, you're going to get destroyed half the time. You should have that expectation. Saying the game is bad because you get beaten badly online is silly for that reason. Some people are just going to be better.

The AI sucks in BAP mode, I agree. That mode needs serious work before I'll start playing it for any period of time.

It's not that I think the game is perfect, I just don't think people appreciate what they have in the NHL series. It could be a whole lot worse, just look at the 2K series.

Won the Memorial Cup as a Dman with the Moncton Wildcats and got drafted 2nd overall by the Flyers. Pretty happy about that.

Just got lucky and picked up a jumbo pack with Pavel Datsyuk in HUT. I haven't put him in my lineup at all, and haven't trained him. What should I put the minimum bid and buy now price at?

Think he is 92 with a potential of 94.

Is there an easier way to manage your collection?

It would be nice to be able to view a roster list without having to scroll through EVERY SINGLE league>division>team just to view 1 card. Like how you can view your active roster under the Stats menu.

Also, I can't ever find my logo cards.

Also, if you send someone from your lineup to trade pile, and don't have anyone spare in your active roster, you can't replace that spot. It's really dumb.

Ya, they really need to work on the sorting of cards in HUT. I recently did a complete overhaul of my lineup using my total collection, and it was quite a process. They need to let you sort by more categories than league and team. I want one where I can sort by ratings as well. Not all of my best players are in the NHL.

I agree.

The only thing I can help you on is logos. In your collection when you are scrolling through the teams, you might notice that some team's logos are coloured in/have a coloured background. Those are the logos you have in your collection.

Anyone else play Online Drop In games? It's so ######ed getting stuck with morons on defense who just play forward the entire game. As a forward, I'm pretty much forced to play D and get a crappy positional rating because of it.

Happens all the time. Its hard to decide wether to play your position and get the points that way or play defence and save your +/- ranks
