Yeah, I just thought it was funny that you ranted against someone posting a spoiler about something by posting that same spoiler.

I love this game, and I still play it even though I've finished it twice now, and finished undead once. I'll still boot it up to play liar's dice or poker when I'm bored, or just to drag some random person behind my horse to listen to them scream.

That's right, I should play Liar's Dice and Poker online.

Undead Nightmare is still pretty awesome though, I saw a Sasquatch.

So I am playing this game now and I am getting bored. The story is good but it just seems that it is ride across the territory and do a task then ride across again and repeat, then in between find a random thing sometimes or stop at the ranch and herd cattle or some other farm task. The tasks are usually pretty fun but I am getting tired of having to ride across the country all the time.

One problem I find that ticks me off is trying to control the horse especially in tight spaces. I usually wind up jumping off and walk to where I am in an open area then call it over.

/\ If you are traveling far distances, open the map and set a waypoint, go outside town and away from a road and setup camp, you can travel from there. It will shave tons of time off of traveling. The farm tasks are just at the beginning and then you get more exciting ones.

I don't think that game's for everybody, especially those who like the frantic, quicker paced-type games. Personally I loved it just because the time period and topography are so well done. But I brought it over to my buddy's house one time (who loves games) and he frickin hated it, just moved way too slow for him.

If you like the general idea of RDR but find it too slow, perhaps try RDR Undead Nightmare. I just got it over the weekend, way more action packed and frantic (trying to kill a crapload of zombies charging you - all with headshots; only way they'll die - is pretty intense). It's actually almost too frantic for me, some parts get on my nerves a bit. But I like the slower moving, stealth games.

I suspect I could spend the entire day just hunting.

Sainters, I'm with you, stealth games are the best. Really like the AC series and loved the Thief series for the PC.

AC is awesome. At this time last year I had never even heard about it, discovered it in about May. By the next month I had beaten 1 and 2, and then beat Brotherhood (IMO best of the series) over Jesusmas. I can't wait for the final one to come out.

I must be the only person who managed to think "Armored Core" before "Assassin's Creed" (despite Armored Core not even BEING a stealth game).

Ya I wasn't great at it either (the stealth part anyway). I'd go into every mission with stealth in mind, but I'd always end up blowing it and then having to fight my way out. Still good times though.

Another awesome stealth game from my past, which I can't play anymore because I made the switch to XBox a couple years ago, is Metal Gear. Man I loved that game on the ol' PS1.

I remember in Metal Gear Solid when you had to fight Psycho Mantis you needed to
Spoiler!

While it was clever, it was also ridiculously stupid. I mean, who would ever think of that without going online for help? I played through the game 2 more times after that looking for a hint that would have told me to do that, and there was nothing.

Still a pretty good series, and one I miss having chosen the Xbox over the PS. I got about half way through MGS: Sons of Liberty when a friend of mine put the game into the CD drive wrong and it got wedged when it closed. Put a hell of a scratch in the disc, and it would freeze up at the title screen.

Hahaha oh ya forgot about that switching controllers thing. That was weird, but kinda cool. I never did figure it out on my own, I just lost so many times that eventually the game tells you what to do.

As for the the title of this thread, just working through Undead Nightmare and am in Mexico. I didn't realize that when you're there you're still able to get back to the States (I tried it once and the path was blocked, guess it was just that path). Zombies kept taking over towns north of the border while I was in Mexico, and I just thought it was part of the storyline to have them re-take over everything while you're gone, since I couldn't do anything about it. I just figured out that's not the case, with only that really northwestern town remaining. Looks like I got my work cut out for me now..

Or there is a stagecoach at every town that can take you around the map. Much more convenient than riding everywhere.

If I recall you have to get to a certain point that you can buy camping gear. Took me soooo long to figure that out. Also if you end up wanting to get the trophy/achievement for collecting the wildflowers you can buy a map that shows where they all are. I learned this while collecting the last flower I needed. Took me a few days. God that was deflating.

That's one thing I prefer about Undead Nightmare (one of the very few. Decent game but RDR Original Recipe is far superior), which I'm working through now. At least collecting flowers actually serves a USEFUL purpose (and not just for unlocking achievements and helping some wacko please his skeleton wife).

EDIT: I've gotta admit Undead is really growing on me. Still pales in comparison to RDR, but I'm having more fun with it than I originally was (maybe I'm just getting used to the quicker pace now). Still very repetitive, but I'm getting cooler guns now. Just got the explosive rifle, that's all sorts of fun. Although I must say, what really is the benefits of having an undead horse? I had the mythical fire one forever, to the point where the game just made me lose it, as when I called it over, it sent an undead one instead. Man that thing's brutal to use! I get dizzy running with it, its always trying to take me somewhere else, making me run in constant zigzags. And trying to cross a narrow bridge? Forget about it. I'd rather have a slow, weak living horse than this thing.

Can someone explain to me what Undead Nightmare is?

is it a whole new game? Expansion pack? How is it different/similar to RDR?
