Part of the outcry is no doubt due to the oilers v ducks playoff game when Perry was lying on the oilers goalie and no penalty was called.
I’m sure that there are oilers fans who expect that level of play to continue…but isn’t.

It hilarious that Oilers fans still bring this one up.
Nurse shoves Perry into Talbot, Perry's stick ends up stuck under Talbot. Perry should not be required to drop his stick because of a situation he did not put himself in - so he's pulling on his stick, and nothing else, to get the stick free.
Switch the two teams, and the Oilers fan's would have been equally as furious had it been called back.
Plus, it was 3-0 with 3 minutes to play. Close the game out, so that you don't have to put yourself in that situation.
Honestly, I think that is why Klapka sat. He would take a penalty up there, whether deserved or not.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
When Mavi told the oilers during the intermission to “dig in right f’n now” and asked teammates to take command and make a personal contribution, why would Draisaitl interpret that to mean go stiff legged, pretend to hit the boards, and fall onto your gloves but pretend it’s your face?
Draisaitl could have tried to drive through or around the player that was in his 12th nhl game; instead, he gains the zone, curls back, and falls down.

Draisaitl, when misinterpreted hearing the Oilers had the GOAT and adapted his diving technique accordingly.
