A lot of lives changed via a decision to get behind the wheel while drunk. Puts things in perspective.
I can’t imagine what his family is going through. Hope I never have to deal with something like that. I honestly don’t know how you would get through it.

I can't even fully put into words how much Johnny meant to me. He brought excitement back to the Flames after Iggy and Kipper left. He gave us fans something to believe in again. I'll never forget seeing this goal in person:

Incredibly tough day. I’ve been refreshing feeds since yesterday hoping that the rumours would be just that. RIP Johnny and Matthew.
The goal vs Dallas immediately comes to mind as one of my favourite Johnny moments, but I think an underrated moment is his little assist to Hudler in 2015 which clinched the playoffs against LA, in a year where everybody had written us off and he was a massive part of us making the playoffs. Iirc, the game before there was actually people cheering for Edmonton in the saddle dome to beat LA as well?
This is one sad morning, waking up to this tragic news of both brothers gone! Dammit! I was looking forward to watch the reunion of Gaudreau and Monahan. As much as I hated Johnny's decision to leave Calgary to be closer to his family, he's one of the Flames that's always in my heart as a Flames. Man, this is just terrible loss not only for the Columbus Blue Jackets but to all of hockey and especially to his family. I can't imagine losing one child or sibling but losing 2 young souls at the same time is unimaginable. Instead of celebration today with the Gaudreau family, they have to deal with sorrow. My condolences and prayers for the family for this enormous tragedy.
