At some point they're just going to call this the 'Sheffield Special.'

Isn't being out of the Caribou Cup a good thing? There's a reason most top teams send out their B and C teams. A trophy is a trophy, I guess, but given how congested fixtures already are I'm guessing someone like Man City probably prefer the extra time off.

With the depth of clubs, sports science/medical advances and few games I am not sure it is that big of a deal. If you look at the teams winning it lately it is still the big clubs who are having success in the seasons that they win it.
With the way City are going now the league is pretty much out of reach for everyone so a Caribou Cup might be a decent way to still make the season a success while finishing 4/5/6th and going out early in the CL.

I dont normally care too much about the Cariboo Cup but that Liverpool/Leicester game was a lot of fun!
Hard defending, some counterattacking and its always interesting to see what the Youth players are made of!

Antony back in the United squad and available for selection. Think that makes sense at this point, as he's fully cooperating with the police and no charges have been filed. If that changes, the club has to act, but for now, I think reintegrating him into the squad is fair.

I don’t know what the right answer is, but it sure seems like in any other job the guy would be suspended with pay. Football has to have a way to deal with this, because it seems like it’s happening every year. I can’t see how optically letting these guys represent the club is a good idea, and it’s pretty poor when they’re working so hard to grow the women’s game with this a continuing issue.

I kind of agree with both you and Slava.
You cant keep him out indefinitely due to 'being under suspicion.'
If evidence comes out or charges are laid you pivot hard and immediately, but until then?
They either need to come up with some sort of system or policy, probably at the *shudder* FA Level, or the Cops have to start working faster or, more ideally, Footballers can dial down the 'scumbag level' and start treating women with more respect.

Well, yeah a "don't rape" policy is probably overdue. I'm not sure what the issue seems to be with these people, but here we are. I do think that you can keep him out though, and the fact is that everyone knows he's being investigated. That's why you suspend them with pay until that investigation is complete. I guess that there is some kind of precedent where players like Partey continued to play despite the accusations and clubs just do what is best for them on the pitch as opposed to what might be ethically or morally right. I just think it's gross, and if Spurs were in this position, I wouldn't want the guy involved.

Agree for City.
But for everyone else, it might be more inciting than ever knowing the league is such a long shot.
Makes Caribou & FA more important since domestic trophy chances are so limited.

I think the local Government already has one of those and they seem to be pretty serious about it.
That being said, if I'm a Premier League defender and Antony is coming down my wing I'm giving him the business all night long.
He would never hear the end of it.

Martinez re-injures his foot, out 2-3 months. And added to United’s crazy injury list.

Yeah.
Let's suspend everyone that's been accused and not charged.
Presumed guilty. Way to go.

Man City losing to Wolves certainly good for any chance of this title race being competitive.

City lost, Man U lost, Everton lost to a freaking promotion team. If Liverpool wins today, it will be a great day.
