and now the NDP leads 8-0 in Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul, which I’m pretty sure is a safe UCP seat. These early results are fun, but not… helpful.

what are they referring to as "single votes". I don't know that I've ever heard that term before.

That makes so much sense, thanks for sharing!
I was kind of hoping for a few conspiracy theories though

I've had it on mute, what's the deal with these 1-0 ridings? Is this some weird quirk of the mobile polls?

The cost of their professional fees and the malpractice insurance would surprise a few.
Not to mention the university tuition in the hundreds of thousands.

Calgary-Buffalo, a safe NDP seat, is currently in the "UCP Leading & Elected" column despite only one lone individual solitary vote being reported so far. There are a few other ridings like that too where the first batch of results counted only one vote.

One observation I had today was how few people seemed to bring that voter card that you get in the mail. I had mine, they sent me to the station to get my name and gave me my ballot. Might have been 3 minutes in and out the door. Meanwhile there's a longish line to register.

My apologies I understand your point now.
Well, that's where things become opinionated. Do you feel that our system is slow due to being inefficient or underfunded? Personally, I believe it to be a combination of both. Throwing more money towards the system doesn't equal straight dollars to doctors. It goes all over and there's a lot of bureaucracy involved.
Hence why I feel opening up semi-privatization is our quickest and fastest way out. Allowing them in brings in private dollars invested directly into the areas of need. And I feel like it only benefits those who rely on the public sector as those with the means to pay for those services will do so.

There’s about as much nuance there as me saying I don’t personally know an astronaut so they can’t exist but anyways I’ll stop derailing cause results are rolling in.
Maybe one day we’ll see lots of oil and subsidized education lol

Polls have been closed for over half an hour and just over 100 votes have been counted total. What's taking so long?

I love how there are three different parties called:
- Wildrose Loyalty Coalition

Especially surprising because of all the advanced voting and that being electronically tabulated and reported.
