But because it's Pittsburgh they know what they are doing and the Flames don't?

They're probably not interested because "reportedly" the Flames were mean to Treliving. Nobody wants to work for meanies.

It does feel like a bad dream. Dave Nonis, Stan Bowman and Marc Bergvin finalists like wtf is this even real.
Obviously we aren't in the interviews but what progressive thoughts would they have presented? Feels like when Feaster swindled the owners to get a job thankfully Burke canned him right away.
Really hoping it's Conroy or Hunter.
Frank is going to have a field day with us if it's Nonis or Bowman.

It would be pretty sad if a few of those guys turned down interviews when you don't even know who they are.
Being turned down by high profile candidates is one thing but guys you are just hearing about is gut punch when you see Dave Nonis and Stan Bowman on our list.

It should be a sign that your organization is doing something wrong but still yet to see that the Flames have that much self awareness.

The reports are round 2…we don’t know who the full list from round 1 was
But I’ve been consistent in my belief that too candidates wont take a job here

Let’s be real, no actual candidates have any reason to consider the Calgary Flames tire fire when there are other option available.
This organization needs a complete, and improbable, enema before the actual healing begins.

Because it's a Canadian market? Or ownership issue's?
It's not like these jobs are always available.

Lack of autonomy
Lack of willingness to rebuild
Living in Calgary as opposed to other places
Money
Franchise reputation
Could be any and all of the above. The Flames are not a destination for top player or management talent
I think BT is held in high regard around the league and him choosing to leave probably is a red flag for many

Then give it to Conroy. He hasn't bailed yet and seems genuinely invested in the franchise.
Nonis, Bergevin, the like, all see this as a stepping stone to other franchises I would guess.

Has there been one credible report that GM candidates are not interested in the Calgary job?

Frank is pro Stan Bowman so he'd probably love that actually. Which still isn't great.

I was going to say the same thing. Frank may as well be Bowman's agent the way he was defending him.

Not to mention the state of the team with anchor contracts, guys potentially wanting out, lack of high end prospects, and players declining in production.
People always talk about there only being 32 jobs, but that is also a good reason for top up and coming, but unproven candidates, to bide their time until a good situation arises. If you jump into a messy situation and fail badly, you could be one-and-done in 3 years and never get another opportunity. Someone like Tulsky for example, knows that he is going to get a shot and likely have interest from multiple teams, not just this year, but in the future. He has a good situation in Carolina as well, so I don't think he is desperate to take any open GM job just because there are only 32.
The guys that worry about that kind of thing are Nonis, Bergevin, and Bowman, who might not ever get another chance.
