Not saying it was Markstrom's fault on those 2 goals but one guy has lost 5 of 6 and the other guy is on a 13 game point streak...

Nothing is his fault.

Good goalies are capable of making big saves, and Markstrom is paid to be a good goalie.

He is consistently the 2nd best goalie in the games he plays, and we don’t think that’s good enough.

It’s not good enough.

He has brutally sucked all season. No one is blaming him for anything, we’re being critical of our goalie who has been bad all season.

Doesnt mean you can hang him out to dry all game.

His last start, he stopped 2 breakaways, let in tipped shots and still got the gears. The man is taking so much blame for poor play in front of him every game. He is routinely the best Flame on the ice when he plays. This team plays brutal defense

But every now & then you need your $6M goalie to steal a game for you.

Imagine thinking the job of a starting goaltender making 6M a season in the best league on earth is to simply make the easy stops. He’s consistently letting this team down. We are 50 games in. These criticisms extend past this game.

Youre asking him to steal games where the offense wont score though.

Let him try and steal a 5-4 game, quit putting up 1 goal games and asking him to steal them
