It's not that it's nothing, it's that it's a small thing. I sigh because I just stopped generally doing it in June. I figured this was coming in fall, but what, I can't be a little disappointed about it, and having to endure the looks and judgy #### all over again?

As expected, Im noticing a lot of people are back to their dickhead ways and showing up to work sick as hell. Just had to interact with a coworker that looks and sounds like they are on death's door.

We have a dude that likes to come into the office to “get away from his family” (his exact words) and everyday we thought that there was no way he could get worse. But yup, he’d show up again with another symptom and somehow still drag his carcass to work. He’s been told multiple times that he is to stay home when he’s not feeling well, but he always downplays his symptoms and then proceeds to sneeze or cough his lungs out all day. Pleasant fella.

Employers like this should be fined and publicly shamed for workplace safety violations.

They should have government funded hotels to shove the sick coworkers and super obvious sick kids that still get shoved into school.
I can understand people that can't miss a pay cheque, or can't find child care, and we should find ways to support those people, whatever the mechanism. But the selfish ######s that decide their personal preferences are more important than you not feeling like ass for 2 weeks need to go.

Our daycare is like this and it's a nightmare. Obviously circumstances are different for everyone so it's tough to get too mad at people for sending their kids in sick but it just sucks. We both work from home so anytime our daughter is sick we keep her home, usually for the week. Yet all winter when we go pick her up the place sounds like an infirmary and you can see the sickness on kids faces as snot is just leaking everywhere.
We've been told they're going to crack down this year but I have my doubts.

The girl had a specialist appointment on Wed. I let them know we were both recovering from Covid - I was testing negative already but she wasn't. We got told to come in anyway, or it would cost us $200. So, we double-masked and went. I was a bit surprised, given that there was a good possibility that there could be compromised people there, but I don't have $200 to pay to rebook the appointment, so...

I tested positive for Covid on September 13th and am still unwell. Can't shake the cough and feel like I've just been limping for weeks.

Have you had COVID before?
When I got it it took 3 months before I didnt feel like I was still dragging ass and probably 6 before I'd say 'normal.'
Yeah, its about 7-10 days of being really sick but it can take the wind out of you long-term.

Holy crap, what are you doing, starting a collection? I dont think multiple bouts of COVID will give you Superpowers if thats what you're going for.
It seems possible to me that you're just getting ground down farther and farther each time...but I'm no Doctor, I just acknowledge that we dont know what we dont know about COVID.

Haha, absolutely agree. I am a teacher so one kid brings it in and then it just goes round and round. No real way to avoid it, because parents keep sending their kids to school sick and we aren't allowed to tell them to leave.

Ahh...makes sense...schools...you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and contagion.
Except maybe Daycare. Those places should be torched to the ground after every session.

Ah. So you're essentially 'Patient 0' and we should probably nuke your house from Orbit before you generate a variant we cant contain.

After 3.5 years of ducking it, we finally got hit. I either picked it up from our house sitter or got it on the plane at the start of our vacation. We were wearing masks on the flight over but a couple of days later I felt like I got a cold. Mine was a snuffy nose and sore throat. Felt like I was swallowing glass for a few days. We assumed it was just a cold as I didn’t have any flu like symptoms. A few days later Ms. Furnace gets a fever and chills to the point she needs a cold bath. I get some tests and she’s positive. I’m testing negative by then, but my symptoms fit what the new strain seems to do.
3+ weeks since I recovered and I’ve still got some congestion and an annoying cough every so often. Based on everyone else, I guess I’ll have this for a while. It’s annoying as when I talk I end up having to cough. It’s mostly just a single cough to loosen stuff up but it doesn’t go away. I feel like I’ve gotten off light compared to others though.
Morale is if you get sick with anything, swab and see if you might be positive. And get your combo shot as soon as you can.

I got covid two weeks ago and had the flu last week. Wasn't ideal, but I'm better now. And there's really not much else to worry about as far as infectious viruses go.
I tried to cancel a dental appointment while having covid and they were like "lol no, you have an appointment, you make your appointment. No one cares." The dentist was wearing an n-95, the hygenist was not. It seemed a bit classest tbh.
But also, given my invincibility...if anyone is into making out (or more) hit me up via dm. Will send you my contact deets. I don't care if you have covid or the flu given my invincibility to both.
