Yes! He'll piss the defenseman off so much that they will crosscheck him right into their goalie.

Can Kylington be sent down to help out the Heat in their playoffs if the Flames are eliminated? There's no waivers in playoffs, correct? I suspect Werner and Ruzicka will be sent down.

No, he can't, and I don't think they'd do it even if he was eligible to. I think it would be kind of an insult to him at this point.

Very possible. Also, he's got the best hands on the team for getting those in-close tips and deflection goals.

The series is tied 1-1 after two games. Why you even thinking that my dude?

The loss last night stings but give credit to Dallas. They played a tight checking game and gave us very little. The series is far from over and the Flames are in a good position being tied in the series.

I also fully understand why some people are concerned. This team has a recent history of not showing up when it matters and the goal scoring, especially 5 on 5 has dried up. People are justified in feeling that but I also think this organization has created a negative fan experience over the years. Let’s be honest, some stats out there are pretty ugly. Flames haven’t been up 2-0 in a series since 2004. Other stats show the inability to get out of the first round etc.

This is why last nights loss has been so polarizing. The Flames have one championship and an amazing run in 2004 basically sums it up. Being skeptical is well within the norm until the team shows otherwise. Could this year be different? Absolutely and I still think the Flames take Dallas. I’m much more optimistic with Darryl Sutter leading the charge than someone like Geoff Ward.

What I’m trying to say is take it easy on those who have their doubts. The organization has little previous success to inspire confidence (this group as well has failed in the playoffs). Let’s hope we have a great two games in Dallas and finish it off on Wednesday at the Dome.

Would I like him to finish? Of course, but he hasn't and probably won't on a consistent basis, but he's certainly driving play and doing his part.
That chance off the rush, Backlund should have scored on that, really creative play. I’ve liked his game. He isn’t one to get inside the Dallas D, but can complement those players well.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for long time fans to have some PTSD. I’m closing in on 4 decades of dedication, and it’s very hard to not get that “Oh no, here we go again” feeling. Some of us just don’t vocalize as much as others.

i think everyone is over analyzing the game, we had 1 giveaway, 1 big mistake and they made us pay but the flames had more than enough scoring chances to win, most nights if they have that many chances they score 4 goals.

Like johnny said at post game "we're fine"

Goal scoring has dried up because we're playing a team that doesn't give up anything combined with a hot goalie. These things happen. Still not worried

If anything, long time fans should have a well-established baseline of expecting mediocrity with lowered expectations that make the games and the team's successes enjoyable while disappointment is limited.

Nothing reminds me more of a Calgary spring than the budding of aspens, greening of grass, and a first round playoff exit.

Backlund was one of the only players noticeably creating their own opportunities. He had 3 close in shots where he went low off the pads and generated juicy rebounds. One was in Mangiapanne's feet, and otherwise was a sure goal. The other two, his line mates were nowhere to be seen.

It’s a defence mechanism that I’d rather not talk about but thank you for acknowledging.

I am nervous, but also kind of optimistic that the Flames are only 1-1 in the series despite bringing nothing close to their A game yet. Of course, the worry is that they don't get it together in time. If they do, they should be able to win 3 of the next 5.
