Its not Revy, but Sun Peaks was very good today, and has a fat base. 4 weeks left in the season. Going to ski powder every weekend at least.

Had an awesome weekend at Marmot. The lower half of the mountain is so-so (icy in the morning, mashed potatoes in the afternoon) but Paradise and Eagle Ridge are in midwinter form if you like fast carving turns.Tres Hombres was in good shape for a non-groomed option and there is knee-deep powder throughout the Marmot cirque. I climbed up several times and had a lot of fun finding some nice lines. They had 8cm overnight and looks like another 10cm incoming. Tres Hombres and the Cirque areas will be really great for a few days anyway.

Are you the one who asked for advice a few weeks ago? Glad it worked out!

I’m heading to marmot this weekend, hoping those good conditions stick around at least until then.

Looking to get out for the first and only time this year in the next week. Anyone with recent experience know where would have the best snow? Sunshine, Louise etc?

Both have received a decent dump over the two days with a bit more expected over the next few days so either resort should be a good pick. I'm hoping to head out to Sunshine for a final day this weekend.

I have been out to Nakiska, LL and Sunshine over the past 2 weekends and Sunshine had the best snow. Not great, but decent.

Had a fantastic last two days at Sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday. After they finished avalanche control on Wednesday, they opened up the Wildside in the afternoon and we got lots of first tracks all afternoon - though it got a little heavy later on with the sun beating down on the snow.

This year’s ski trip definitely had some marginal conditions, but we really ended the trip on a massive high.

My son loved his new skis and I loved catching up with some special friends I’ve met over the years through skiing at Sunshine.

Now I’m back home, all I can do is look at the photos and plan for next year.

Calgary is really fortunate to have such wonderful countryside right on its doorstep.

Excellent day at Marmot. Icy in spots and not much fresh snow but I’m not too picky. Tres Hombres stellar as usual.

Mammoth Mountain in California is staying open until August 6 for skiing and snowboarding.

Screw it. I'm not buying a season pass next year. Here it is almost December and Louise has fkn sucked for the second year in a row.

Your expectations are nuts. I'd count any good turns before Jan. 1 as a really nice bonus.

Are you joking around with me? I have photos of shin deep powder on the main runs at Louise from November 2021. My birthday is actually in the first half of November, so I have distinct memories from snowboarding this time of year. Had waist deep powder at Fortress once for my birthday, too. You're out of your mind if you don't know this is a terrible start to the season. November can be good. This is basically as bad as it gets so far.

Obviously it can get better, but last season was a complete disaster and it's disappointing that we're almost a month in and it's super bad so far.

This year is especially barren in my opinion and not looking great in the next few weeks. This is important time of year to build that base. It’s not a lost season in November but the start isn’t great.

2006 will be forever etched in my memory - three knee deep days before November 10th.

Of course there are amazing starts to years. But IMO there is little to distinguish ####ty starts and mediocre starts. I only ever hope to get in one day that doesn't suck before Xmas week. Anything better than that is bonus, and by setting my expectations this way I am rarely disappointed.

No argument, it could be a terrible year. I'd just never expect good turns in December, let alone November.

I got bad news for you, this is a slow start for Louise but completely within the normal quartiles. Hell, last year was average at this time.

It's literally tracking along the lowest possible amount.
