People are still using the term "Trickle down economics" as if it has meaning. It was just a campaign slogan from the eighties that uninformed people think represents an actual idea.

Just for fun,

So it doesn’t represent the idea that lowering corporate taxes will lead to higher wages?

It's a straw man.

We all know what trickle-down economics mean, even us 'uninformed'. True there is no official policy called trickle down but it is a common way to characterize certain economic approaches.

Quote:
The term "trickle-down" originated as a joke by humorist Will Rogers and today is often used to criticize economic policies that favor the wealthy or privileged while being framed as good for the average citizen. David Stockman, who as Ronald Reagan's budget director championed Reagan's tax cuts at first, later became critical of them and told journalist William Greider that "supply-side economics" is the trickle-down idea:[11][12]

It's kind of hard to sell 'trickle down,' so the supply-side formula was the only way to get a tax policy that was really 'trickle down.' Supply-side is 'trickle-down' theory.

That's not what a straw man means. If you're going to be the type of dork that talks about logical fallacies at least refer to the correct ones.

Logical fallacies are the life blood of any good internet discussion board.
