I don’t like Geoff Ward. I didn’t want him as coach because I thought there were better options (if they were willing) and I think they’d do a little better if they fired him (but not as much as lots of people do because I think this team just isn’t that talented). I
What do think a lot of comments are over the top, and some are just wrong - there are descriptions of the “system” that are not based in reality - they are based on some sort of preconceived notion of what he is coaching and not what’s on the ice. And I don’t pretend I know more about coaching than a professional.
I do think he makes mistakes on line combos but they aren’t irrational mistakes like the comments say. Mostly I don’t think he gets his players to buy into winning hockey. There are a lot of selfish plays.
