The problem is its endless with her and McDavid, play after play, game after game, year after year. She needs to get mature in her analysis.

I got a question .. did Mark Giordano ever wear the original blasty. It was around when he started but my googlefu has turned up nothing. Would be pretty special if he did.

Yes. His second game of his career was the last time the Flames wore it, Feb 1 2006 vs CBJ.

Backlund always seems to play well against the oilers and the canucks. He truly seems to hate both teams.

My point is this. Good win, needed that. But does every game has to be such a rollercoaster?
Is it wrong to question that?
What if they play a great game but lose? Are we not allowed to praise them for a good game?

I think it’s fair to critique when deserved but you didn’t really do it in a way to create discussion, just in a way to troll and complain.
The top line didn’t have a great night and were hemmed in their zone a fair bit.
But even when hemmed they didn’t actually give up a lot of quality.
They had a bad Corsi for at 36.8% (7 for, 12 against) but really they did well to limit the chances that came from that.
Shots were 5-5 with them on the ice, high danger chances were 1 for and 2 against (which seems weird since both goals for were high danger area IMO), and they out scored the other team 2-1.
They didn’t maybe have their best game overall tonight and fought the puck at times but they grinded it out in the defensive zone and actually came out ahead on the scoreboard.
Shouldn’t be overlooked that for as bad as they looked at times tonight as a team they outscored the Oilers 5-1 at 5v5.

This is true. I think he likes the role he’s given against McDavid, or at the least, really gets into it.

Might just be me but when we beat the Oilers I don't hone in on anything we did poorly. We won. Beat our most hated rivals. Did so in our beautiful and highly anticipated jerseys. I can't fathom being negative right now.

No body cares about whether you’re right or wrong, nobody cares what you’ve been harping on for years. People are Flames fans, and if there’s one thing we can all appreciate, it’s beating the Oilers.
Hockey is fun, it is a game, it is entertainment. If beating the Oilers doesn’t bring you joy and make you forget about complaining for even one night, then I’m sorry, but the joke is on you.
|
I'd rather be right. Sue me. Or better yet, put me on ignore. Do it enough and you will only hear what you want to hear. And I won't hear you. Win - win.

Can we step back and just appreciate that the Canucks let Tanev and Markstrom walk for nothing to a hated rival ?
Calgary has done the same for a few years not the 2 MVPs tho..

I thought Bennett looked fine there, but this is ridiculous. The Gaudreau - Monahan -8ndholm line was absolutely dominant not so long ago.

As far as Monahan, the "glove to skate to stick" sequence off the awkward pass from Gio, knowing he had Gudreau breaking, was highly skilled. Also, Gaudreau took off right away and knew/trusted that his centerman was going to get him the puck on the fly like that.

I appreciate your take. Maybe I'm too negative tonight.
But if you dig deep in your post, you are confirming what I said. Just not as blunt.

It would be like the flmes letting Kipper and Reggie go after the 04 run.
I don't think Benning anticipated the Flames sign both, but still. A big miss
