Could be a jammed thumb for Dach. I’ve done that before

That would really suck if Dach is hurt from such an innocent looking play. Hope he's alright.

Kuznetsov looks like a solid defensive defensemen with good gap control, a smart active stick, good defensive awareness and solid mobility for a big 6'4 frame. Also always seems to have a great first pass out of his zone.

Not overly impressed with Byfield, his puck handling and swatting out of the air looks like a hot potato

I’d describe Kuznetsov’s game as simple, direct and intelligent. He is also a good skater. I can easily see why the Flames like that.

I thought so too. Also looked maybe like he broke his arm possibly. Not good if that’s the case

Nice to see all 3 of our guys played well. Zary is so smart, and Pelletier had a great game-almost got one by Askarov, but the post got in the way. He played with some jam tonight, good on him.

I thought all 3 guys showed well.
Pelletier was consistently impactful through the game. Besides his crossbar he's so smart with how he presses and the routes he takes around the ice.
Zary seemed eager to drive to the net whenever possible, had a few smooth break-out assists in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Great work to set up Cozens for that chance in the 2nd.
Kuzya is my kind of defender. Calm, efficient, great reach and gap control. Had a really good back pressure to break up a Dach 1 on 1 after he activated off a rush early in the first, and a really good penalty kill halfway through the 2nd period. Consistent clean movements and breakouts.

You get the sense #Flames prospect Yan Kuznetsov will be one of those guys who will always seem older than he is. Mind you, maturity happens quick when you leave home at 16, attend college at 17, learn a new language along the way. Looks calm and poised on the ice, too. No panic.
Darren Hayes sees things the way we all do.

As a defenseman who watches defensemen, I was really impressed with Kuznetsov's game - smart defensively, always in position, good first pass, great skater, good mobility, and plenty of size. He will be an NHLer for sure.
Really liked Pelletier's game tonight. He reminds a lot of Dube - works hard every shift, smart, and a great forechecker.
I am a big fan of Zary, but I thought he was so-so tonight. He lost a LOT of puck battles on the boards, though he did make some things happen offensively.
Askarov looked REALLY good. So did Levi.

He’s one of my favourites for sure.

Agreed about Byfield, but keep in mind he's the youngest player on the team for the second straight year. Hopefully he settles in as the tourney goes on.
