Ethics.
Iceland is known as a leader in LGBTQ rights, it is also one of the early nations who banned FGM.
We have had a number of Icelandic LGBTQ members who have shared their tearful discussions of how their parents chose a sex based on very few facts and that then was a huge harm to their upbringing.
Intersex children and their rights are painfully hard to listen to, and I am proud to be a part of the new legislation we are trying to pass that protects all surgeries and modifications on children unless medically necessary.
