Now I'm a little excited (well as excited as a fan could in get this years free agency who's team wasn't in on Tavares). Would be nice to see this one out of the way so the floodgates can open.

He isn't UFA until 10am MT.

All that has happened is the Isles have lost their ability to sign him to a 8 year deal, which probably makes their offer less desirable.

edit: unless he already signed with Isles and it just hasn't been announced yet.
