It's gotta be disappointing how poorly the Nashville defencemen have been as a group. Josi, Weber, Ellis and Ekholm have been bad in this do or die scenario

The Sharks have done to them what Ferland Stajan and Jones did to Sbisa and Bieksa

I recall the reaction on CP to DeBoer's hiring was largely of the meh variety including me... shows how much we know!

To be fair, he's been on the decline for a year or two now. The dude was a beast a few years ago, definitely wasn't overrated.

Wow, Sharks stepped it up!

Let's see what they do with the Blues. Should be a very good WCF.

What was holding the Sharks back all these years? Something changed in them this year, it's like something bad was removed from them...

It's weird to see the Sharks and Blues both go for the throat and not let go in a game that actually matters.

Great read. I would've agreed with most posters at the time too

Meh, he made the finals in his first year with NJ. We'll see how he does over the next few years.

Yah I definitely thought it was a bad hire at the time.

Should calm some Calgary fans to take a wait and see approach with whomever Treliving decides on.

It is very possible that both the Sharks and Blues decided they've had enough of the "chokers" label. The WCF ought to be good.

Says one of the most vocal ones at the time of hire...

But like I said, I too thought it was a bad hire. Pretty clear it wasn't and I was wrong...

I know people praise Nabokov... but Nabakov/Niemi were not good enough IMO.

They also were never this talented. Last time they were in the playoffs Burns was a right wing, not a Norris candidate. Vlasic got hurt that year too.

Should be a really good Western conference final, two really strong teams that can roll 4 lines.

Maybe the differences between teams in this league is just razor thin and the entangible are finally going the Sharks way.

Oh man, I laughed at that. Thought he was a huge downgrade from McLellan. Now look at each of them

Shows what I know. And also shows that coaches are a tricky thing and it's more about suitability than anything else. That's why I'm really not worried about the Flames' hire. Even if they did nab Yeo or Carlyle who's to say they don't do a complete 180. I'll be happy with any hire (Now that it can't be Crawford)

Going to be a great battle. That's the SCF in my eyes, whoever wins that likely ends up with it all (Hardly a bold prediction I know)
