They are at Cincinnati next week. Not even week 4 and the season is over already. Sadly there is no Andrew Luck in this draft, and they're still better than the Bears. I have to wonder why on Earth they drafted Dee Ford two years ago.
Bears, Saints, Lions, Dolphins, Jaguars, Skins, Bucs, Raiders, Panthers, 49ers.

KC won't even draft in the top 10, so hopefully they get their stuff together. I'm not convinced they can't upset the Bengals and scrap their way back

And this is why I think the Browns should've started Manziel last week:
http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...-isnt-starting

Completely predictable chain of events given the game Johnny had. Also an unfair situation to put McCown in. Every mistake he makes now, even his own crowd is going to be clamouring for Manziel.

So I'm all for advanced stats, but I've always found Pro Football Focus to be a pretty poor site for them. And this table pretty much confirms that. Yes, according to them Blake Bortles, Ryan Mallett, Nick Foles and Jameis Winston were all better than Aaron Rodgers this week. Yeah....

TMZ reports on the NFL? I don't buy that story.

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/inde...ml#incart_2box

The club has issued no formal statement although receiver Andrew Hawkins took to Twitter calling the report, "%1000 made up."

Fair enough, it certainly doesn't mean it's fact. Though the general consensus by NFL media members on my Twitter feed after Hawkins' comments seemed to be that it just means it 100% didn't come from Hawkins.

Either way, even if it does end up being fluff, I just thought it was a tough situation to put McCown in. If it were me, I'd have gone back to Manziel. At least if he blew it, it'd be much easier to turn back to McCown, without fans calling for Manziel every time Josh has a bad drive or throws a pick.

I understand your line of thinking but if the guy running my team made personnel decisions based on what fans call for I'd want him fired on the spot. What's that quote about if you listen to the fans you'll end up in the stands with them?

It's not often the Raiders make history for good reasons;

PFF doesn't work well for skill positions. It's really only useful for grading linemen, linebackers, and HB's. Amari Cooper had over 130 yards receiving on Sunday but graded out negatively because he fumbled once while another receiver can have two receptions for 30 yards and grade higher. Makes no sense at all.

For sure you should never make decisions at the mercy of the masses. For me it's not even doing what the fans want, as much as just building for the future. Even if McCown is the better option at this point, why is a team who's not really a playoff contender concerned with getting a 36 year old career backup back in there, when your young, potential QB of the future is coming off a breakout game and has momentum?

Personally I'm always of the "play the kid" methodology in those situations. But I understand there's different viewpoints on that.

Too bad about Ben, usually I'd be fired up about a Steelers/Ravens game. Could argue it's been the best rivalry in the NFL the last few years. But with Ben out and the Ravens at 0-3 I'm not sure if I'll even watch it.

Between that game, Flames pre-season, and the Jays fielding basically a AAA team today after clinching, there's a lot of sports on tonight that looks good on paper but is actually pretty boring.

So Joe Flacco's cap hit becomes $28.5 million next year and $31.5 million in 2017. If nothing else the Ravens will probably be drafting a QB this year, but you gotta think trading/cutting him will be a discussion they have to have. That's an absurd hit for a QB in the 15-20 range.

This loss is all on Scobee. Pittsburgh should have released him after his 2 misses vs. New England.

Scobee deserves some but the Steelers coach has to share some of it for not giving Scobee a chance to redeem himself in overtime.

It was structured all along so after this season there was zero chance of not restructuring. He will get another signing bonus to lesson the cap hit.

Really.... From that range Scorbee has about a 20% chance (totally guessing) of making it. The chance the pick up the first down was much higher.

Fans love to 2nd guess when plays don't work. Both these coaches almost always make the best calls to put their teams in the best possible chance to win. Sometimes it doesn't work out.

It was wasn't it. I had to remind myself that it was a regular season game not exhibition as both teams especially on offense executed so poorly and Tomlin's 4th down decisions are the type you see when you play Madden online not they type you see in any professional football league. I wouldn't be feeling very secure today if I'm Josh Scobee.

IMO Tomlin went against the book coaches use in these game situations which is why he looks bad today. The only person on the field that had a worse night than Scobee was Tomlin. I don't think even the biggest Steelers fanboy can argue that those 4th down gambles were good calls. Heck if you are going to go for it on multiple 4th and short at the very least put the ball into the hands of one of the best running backs in the league (Bell) rather than the hands of a washed up backup QB.
