pretty cool that in the last 16 on the men's side, there are 5 frenchmen. Unfortunately they will probably all lose in this round.

Round of 16

(1) Djokovic (SRB)
(20) Gasquet (FRA)

(6) Nadal (ESP)
Sock (USA)

(3) Murray (GBR)
Chardy (FRA)

Cilic (CRO)
Ferrer (ESP)

(5) Nishikori (JPN)
Gabashvili (RUS)

(14) Tsonga (FRA)
(4) Berdych (CZE)

(8) Wawrinka (SUI)
(12) Simon (FRA)

(13) Monfils (FRA)
(2) Federer (SUI)

I'm really liking Jack Sock's chances to beat Nadal and ruin the big QF with Djokovic. Sock has the kind of game to really frustrate Nadal.

Monf is just wild. After that great set this could easily be a 6-0 set for Fed. So much fun to watch for the total unpredictability.

I learned today that Ivanovic is now dating Schweinsteiger.

That is your TMZ report.

Federer comes right out and dispatches Monfils quickly 6-4 and 6-1 to finish it. Maria out to Safarova in straights, the bottom half of the draw is wide open.

Sloane played great and Serena was mostly awful and Serena still won. Gotta be demoralizing for other players to know what it takes to beat Serena.

I know Tsonga is French and all, but bumping Federer/Wawrinka to Lenglen is amazing to me. For whatever reason they are starting at 2pm local and only having two matches on Chatrier so it has to be mens/womens to make the time definitely work.

So they might wanna go ahead and finish that roof on Chatrier. A piece of debris from it just was blown off and into the crowd. Doesn't look like any serious injuries. Nishikori badly needed that to compose himself though, he is getting destroyed by Tsonga. Stan up a set on Fed.

Edit: Fed on his way out, the Stanimal is destroying the ball with precision. Virtually unbeatable when he's hitting at this level.

You're so right. When Wawrinka is on, he's on. He looked fantastic against Federer today.

Amazingly, the first time Roger hasn't gotten a single break in a match at a GS since 2002. What a fight from Nishikori too facing multiple break chances with Tsonga 4-4 in the 3rd set, saves them and breaks to force a 4th set.

Tsonga seems worn out.
