Pretty tough to hear that whistle at IGF - Brutal weekend with both Lulay and Durant going down, hope both QB's can return quickly, but neither looked good heading off to the dressing room.

Over half way through the season now and the Stampeders have as many wins as the whole Eastern division combined.

Embarrassing.

Absolutely embarrassing... we should have more wins than the East!

Funny seeing all the crying and whining by Prider fans. No team gets away with more holding than the Prider offensive line, there was a clear obvious hold on the Dressler TD that went unflagged, and yet again the Riders fluke one out with a poor offensive showing.

So now they whine about Durant getting creamed on a non-play. They like to brag that the dump in Regina is the loudest stadium in the league, yet the new stadium in Winnipeg is as loud or louder. So ya, there was a lot of noise and the play continued. Didn't look at all like the Rider line stopped playing, and Durant certainly didn't - they just got beat. Injuries happen.

Riders fans and organization are the biggest hypocrites in the league. The organization and fans campaigned for a decade to get the salary cap so they could compete with the Evil Empire Eskimos and now they have started to make money they are the ones exceeding the cap and if you were at Riderfans they were campaigning for the team to sign Dressler even if it put them over the cap because they can afford the slap on the wrist. Bunch of jokers.

Funny thing about the incident is Durant never heard the whistle either which is why he was in so much of a hurry to unload the ball with a defender coming at him. Calling a penalty for the hit wouldn't have changed the fact that the injury happened and if anyone visits riderfans.com some of them were cracking jokes about Lulay getting re-injured so maybe this is "what comes around goes around" biting them on the rear.

If any team has a complaint about the officiating it was the Bombers that got completely hosed on the Dressler TD to which there was clear as day holding on the play as even the resident TSN Riders apologist in Suitor couldn't deny that obvious hold. Just brutal to see a game decided on a TD that should never have happened.

Not a good sign if Durant has to spend a long time in the injured list as he looks like a guy that needs to be playing to keep his weight down. I know Riders fans love to make their fried chicken jokes about Lewis but it looks like Durant if following the same eating plan as he's getting doughy.

Durant is 34 I think... a long term injury, especially one that potentially impacts his training could be fairly serious for a comeback attempt. There are very QBs who can play beyond that mid-30s mark. As much as Rider fans like to make fun of Burris, he is a physical beast that is still playing at 40. Don't see a player like Durant who has never been elite being able to be effective until he is 40.

Durant is 32 and the guy is tough. I dont think he'll have as long as a career as Burris but he'll bounce back in form

The Eskimos and Bombers are who we thought they were. Inflated records from playing terrible Eastern teams.

Agreed. The West really is so much better than the East this year. Not sure what the schedule makers were thinking in overloading the first half with so many East-West games, but all it has done is drive down interest and expose the league.

I love CFL football, but it really is a 5th or 6th tier league. With NFL and NHL starting now, and NBA starting soon, interest is likely to go down especially with the struggles of the Eastern teams. At least, everywhere but Saskatchewan, where there really is nothing else to do but hope and pray that this is one of those very rare years that the Riders don't lose (4 wins out of 101 years in an 8 team league is the very definition of pathetically futile).

With the struggles in TO, this could be very bad for this league. I wouldn't be completely shocked if this league is in a lot of trouble within 5 years.

The one positive from the schedule is that it helps move the league towards no divisions, and the best teams will make playoffs.

CFLDaily ‏@CFLDaily 4m
Riders HC Corey Chamblin says Darian Durant will not play at Hamilton this week. #CFL

No surprise here. He is getting evaluated again this afternoon which will hopefully give the team a time-line on his recovery

It took him a long time to come back from the last surgery and he wasn't exactly looking good throwing the ball prior to re-injuring. I wonder if after another surgery doctors advise him to hang it up. He's still young enough where he could take a full season off and try and come back but I can't imagine any team will want to gamble with him being their starter and lasting a season.

does that spell the end of Travis Lulay's career?

Shame if it does.

Arash Madani@ArashMadani38s

BREAKING: The #Riders announce QB Darian Durant suffered a torn tendon in his right elbow that will require surgery. Season likely over.

Frick. It's the Tino show now. The Riders season now depends on the defence and the three headed monster at RB.

If he is done for the season, that could lock up the Grey Cup for Calgary. I'd prefer beating them with everyone healthy.

is the three headed monster:
1. Ford/Allan/Messam
2. Rigorous holding
3. Complicit referees?

I kid, I kid

I cannot see him playing this year. I have sprained my elbow tendon lifting weights and it took over a month before I could curl a dumbbell again and to this day it still flares up. I can't imagine him being able to throw with velocity in the coming months
